I felt he drifted in and out of the game, but when he was active, he looked very good.

Great first half but not so good in the second where some of his passing and last third play was poor.
Overall though we must keep him as he will get better

It was an open game yesterday and I think that suited his style of play.

I hope he now pushes on next season.

Had a great game yesterday, particularly first half.
I really do feel that he and Wilf play well together and that connection will only get stronger if in the unlikely event that Wilf stays put.
As a whole id say max has had a positive season, hes shown that hes a game changer off the bench, though i believe he has to be a consistent starter to really see the best of him.

We have to remember he had no pre-season with us and hadnt trained for 3-4 months before he joined.. this season was all about him settling in and getting to grips with the league.
In his post match interview yesterday he hinted to the fact he had been unhappy constantly being sub, but was really happy to now be playing.
He even said that this palace team has more talent than his old Schalke team.
I really think (and hope) he kicks on next season, because i genuinely believe we could build a team around him, wilf and AWB.

Talented player no doubt, but is he strong enough for the Premier?

Watching him the whole year was interesting. I think it was an issue of fitting in with the others.

In the first two-thirds of the season you could see him pointing to where he wanted the ball, but the regular players didn't trust him enough, and they passed to other regulars. That made him try too much when he did get possession, in which case he more often turned it over.

The last third of the season (and especially yesterday), you saw the regulars pass to him more and trust him with the ball. Thus he doesn't try to do too much and is more involved in plays.

As a side-note, Wilf also gets into games where he tries to do it all himself. He often dribbles into 3 players. While you can occasionally get a spectacular play, it very often results in a turnover. These were some of his worse games this year.

If anything, I'd say he's been doing the opposite. His through ball in the first to Batshuayi was the first time he's really attempted that sort of pass, and he has had opportunities before.

Yesterday was comfortably his best game for Palace, and he can still be a big part of the future, but I don't think he's going to be the out and out creator that people want him to be (or that we need).

What he does give us is another useful player who can keep the ball and provide a bit of drive. I still think we need another out and out creator for those games like Cardiff or Huddersfield.

Whether it's someone who plays deep alongside Luka and gets moves starting earlier, someone playing off the striker as a more traditional No.10, or someone who can play from a wider position and drift inside. We've got a lot players (including Meyer) who can cover a couple of different roles already, so we've got a lot of flexibility in the sort of player we can look to add.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Much improved on Sunday but McArthur was better IMO and our second best player to Wilf.

On 6 million a year. And not good enough. Get rid save the money and use it to buy a real talent. Mayer does not work for us. Another Jonnie Williams.
