He was thrown into unknown territory when PVA was injured! Adapted and was POTM. Why not use Jairo R. as a right back? At least he knows how to pass a ball and is pretty good at defending.

He does need game time. Without sensible player rotation, players coming off the bench will need five to ten minutes to settle - giving the possibility of matches being lost in those minutes, is that what terrifies Roy into not making substitutions?

I have always been a fan of the former Ajax player. In pre season he has shown his worth. Hope the manager does not place him on the bench again - finally we have a creative midfielder with an eye for good passing.

The more he's played in that position during pre-season, the better he looked. Hope he gets a good run in that role.

Always been a fan... thought he did exceptionally well at left back... like all ex Ajax players he’s great technically and passes the ball better than most...definitely give him a run in the side!!

Put it simply, he is a true Ajax type - a real footballer with abilities and a football brain.

Jairo has played very well pre season but my concern is not his ability to see a pas and complete it but his lack of pace. The speed at which games are played at times in the Premiership could well mean him getting caught out when being counter attacked.
I guess we will only find out if we play him. COYP

This is exactly why he will never be a regular.

A certain Cabaye was nota sprinter either! What "slower" players lack in tempo, they more than take that out of the equation with their thinking, calmness and ability to find teammates with their passing.
Jairo fits that description perfectly.

Agreed and this is why he should be a regular starter together with his ability to actually find a teammate with a pass
