Apart from 1 or 2 chances (which Pickford saved well) England played well in the second half. They are showing how important being good at corners and set pieces are. If Russia get through will England change to their 4th kit?

So glad we are not facing Russia, even tho Croatia are the better team, i just felt that certain fan rivalries might pop up and their could be serious "stuff".

This has turned out to be a non-world cup without any south American teams at this stage. Even the European representation without the likes of Italy, Germany or Netherlands has made it feel like a second rate Euro tournament with what's left. All turned out to be like watching fireworks on a rainy night.

The World Cup has been fantastic without Italy and the Dutch, although the Dutch fans have been missed. Germany going out was great too.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Only if Russian hooligans want to spend 20 years in jail. 2 years ago a British author writing a book on Russian sport said Putin would either keep them under house arrest or let them run riot. Putin will probably give them free travel to all future Euros though.

They were knocked out you strange man. Ever thought what you want is monotonous, or that your opinions are monotonous?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I suppose there is an argument that we've been given a back door to the final, but most of the top teams have been s***, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Spain etc just haven't turned up. That's not our fault ! Then again, it would have been interesting what sort of match it would have been against Germany or Brazil. But this England team have really surprised me and with hindsight I reckon we'd have beaten those sides mentioned.

Alot of world cup winners have been lucky on route to lifting the cup. Argentina in 78 - very lucky in the final, Italy in 82 - they didn't even win a group game!, France in 98 - minutes from going out against Paraguay. And even Portugal 2 years ago, they were awful in the groups, and the draw opened up for them.

With respect, you are talking nonsense! The clue us in the word “cup”. Teams get knocked out. That’s how it works. Otherwise “they” might as well just get Germany to play off against Argentina or Brazil every four years and save us all a load of time.
