yes, I agree with you. The best striker on the field scored two goals with his feet and just think, he could have been a Palace player a few months ago! What a fiasco allowing CB to take the penalty, another two points down the pan. Are we willing ourselves into the Championship? I really can't see Palace staying up now, we are unable to score more goals than the other side. Looking at the fixtures, I don't think we stand a chance. Without Zaha we would have 5 points on the board. Where was the management allowing us to enter another season with one striker that can't strike a ball even when it's sitting on a penalty spot! Then our next match is against Watford, then Leicester away, followed by Arsenal and Man. C. All over by the end of the year! sorry.

You keep your negativity to yourself old chap. There is only one match out of that 4 (Citeh) that we don't really have much hope in although West Ham ran them close last week and they lost in the CL so all is not lost, far from it. Watford are a bit hit and miss, Leicester are on a good run but I didn't think they looked great against Newcastle yesterday and why shouldn't we beat Arsenal, we did last year?

Gross indiscipline from CB and not far behind from our Captain Dann, hopefully his last game in this role.
Benteke should be heavily fined and made public.
Did loads of flick owns but nobody around to benefit!! Fed up of reading this, he can't score goals for love nor money (£120k a week) and this is what he needs to be doing and quick. Plus in the process working his socks off.......pink pig just flown over East Grinstead!

Blaming Dann? He wasnt captain.

This..!!

In fact I would go a stage further and say it is/was gross misconduct - definition;
Unacceptable or improper behaviour of a very serious kind, especially by an employee or professional person. "You can sack someone on the spot for gross misconduct".

Obviously we are not going to sack Benteke - he's a £30M odd asset to the club. But he should be heavily fined - 4 weeks wages - minimum his behaviour was unacceptable, improper and unprofessional.

IMO he's an egotistical, primal donna mercenary who has no real feelings or affiliation to the club. He couldn't give a stuff if we go down, he'll be sold, pick up a percentage of the deal/signing on fee and a £100K+ a week contract elsewhere and carry on in his own selfish manner elsewhere with no regrets or thoughts of Palace and the fans.

I for one hope get £30M for him in January and he goes - after yesterday you must assume that his relationship with the management and players is an at all time low.

After all how would we feel if at work you had worked your socks off for something and then someone came in at the last moment with no authority or appointment and screwed it all up at the last minute, for no other reason than to take the glory for their own personal gratification.

As I said unacceptable, improper and unprofessional - so gross misconduct.

An absolute disgrace that Benteke should even think he was above everyone at the club. Roy will know how to deal with him. A fine and expected apology to the team and management.
The main problem is his ego and that will not change overnight. The other problem is his ability. I really think that he has not fulfilled expectation of the heafty price tag.
As for having only one 'striker' in the squad is very shortsighted and shows a complete lack of planning by management.
Shake them up Roy!

3 goals in 14 appearances from Defoe (who's on the same wages as Benteke) this season. Wow, we really missed out there lads! To suggest he would've been a good signing is bordering on the ridiculous.

Thats 3 more than Benteke, despite having a penalty! Could have meant 3 victories rather than 3 draws. How would you feel then. Or would you still back Benteke?

Fully agree, Benteke is proving to be a waste of space, better of without him that miss could have cost us our PL status by the end of the season, a four year old could have done better!

Been thinking about things and wow this is totally a case of gross misconduct.

The club should throw the book at him and at least a three game out of the squad.

Absolutely shocking what happened. Those two points and the confidence it's have bought vs the debacle he's caused and the negativity that'll bring.

Roy has no choice but to get him out the squad for the foreseeable.

Luka was IMO right to give up arguing with him and relent. As after having a fellow pro hound you he'd likely have missed as well.

Where were the other players? Tomkins and Schulpp and co clearly pissed Luka wasn't gonna take it.

Why didn't they say something.

Where was the captain stepping in. Telling the ref and player what the crack is.

Totally chaos becuase of one idiot....

If I was Parish I'd be trying to get a move for him to China for the best money we can get.

This team doesn't need a character like that in it. Absolutely carrying him and he's done this.

The spot kick its self, utterly useless... no wonder Tomkins was fumming as he clearly knew what was likely coming.

Benteke should not be in the squad till at least Jan IMO.

Those two points IMO have really really set us back, first time all season that im actually worried about our survival.

We have to be realistic about this, no matter how blood-boilingly annoying that was yesterday. Roy should bawl him out (if one can imagine such a thing), fine him and tell him exactly what his future is if he doesn't shape up and fly right. In reality we're never going to sign two strikers in the January window, one maybe, but not two. Until the summer we're going to have to make the best of what we've got.

So you're suggesting that 3 goals in 14 games is a good return then? Because that is what my post was arguing against, with regards to some people suggesting Defoe 'could've' been one of ours. Absolutely no chance. £120k a week going to waste at Bournemouth, there.

On the subject matter of players we should've signed/sold, does anyone have any sensible suggestions for a striker? Haven't seen any here, nor on transfer talk, really.

Absolutely Goldfinger.

Parish is a businessman and this/he should deal with accordingly.

I'm sick and tired of these egotistical, overpaid and under delivering tw@ts believing that they live in a world where the status quo in real life does not apply.

Make a statement Steve and Roy - this was improper, unacceptable and unprofessional and we're not prepared to accept it...!!

We'll see.
