Quite, and he should not have been so singularly ostracised after having served out the five years. I don't agree that necessarily he should have been able to immediately return to football on parole (but then I don't agree with automatic early release and parole for sex offenders - Parole and early release should be based on rehabilitation etc). But he basically overturned a rape charge on what would normally be referred to as a technicality in most cases. Remember that there was still actually a rape, its just that no one was guilty of rape. He can thank his lawyer and 50k for him being cleared. Lets not forget just how scummy his 'Defenders' had been throughout the case and that a number of his 'close friends and family' were involved in some pretty scummy online activity.

Think it's just by acting as a model inmate more than showing remorse. I suppose showing remorse could also come into it but it would be on a case by case. It could be showing that you are a reformed character. Which would be easy if you weren't a rapist in the first place wouodn't it? Not that I'm saying he is, or isn't

I think it is for parole, but as the prison service is now dedicated to getting as many people through the doors as possible, it seems that concepts like that have long been surrendered.

Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Oct 2016 4.40pm) I forgot I'd posted this comment. I don't really like feminists. By definition they are campaigners for inequality.

I studied feminist theory as part of my Psychology Degree, its very much about equality - Don't let the shrill shrieker brigade fool you. The radical feminist movements, like Dworkin, definitely (and some of the stupid interwebs feminists). Interesting stuff, and revolutionary in terms of the development of critical theory and qualitative research methodology.

The "feminist" image one generally gets is the maniacal one. Spoiling it for the rest of them.
