Neither Arsenal or Everton have qualified for the champions league so I find the whole thing hard to understand really. Has he fallen out with the manager/ board?

That’s because you’re a Palace fan and not a non ‘Palace fan’ player who could go to a club that doesn’t rely on him to stay up but might get them higher near the top of the league.

Perhaps he wants to simply not be battling relegation every year? Perhaps he wants to play for a club whose ambition is not it seems to avoid relegation every year? Perhaps he wants to play for a club that actually invests in the team as opposed to signs a bunch of journeyman donkeys or loan signings at the last moment. We are as usual this season seemingly perusing 'a make do and mend' policy signing a goal shy striker and a keeper released by a championship club who shipped 5 against Barnet. If was not both illegal and immoral to change your club I might have considered going elsewhere!
