Just wish SP would be decisive and appoint someone instead of waiting to see who will become available in the future. The way this is dragging on we'll still be rudderless at the start of pre-season and looking at yet another relegation dog fight.

Seems the children on the hol that are embroiled in what the papers/bookies think is happening on a daily bases would rather we just make any decision, instead of the right one. Parish does need to get a move on mind, it's not like he's got things right before by conducting business on the quiet. Edited by rawpalace05 (18 Jun 2017 11.06am)

If this Pope esq/Forsyte Saga is not resolved by Friday of next week there is something seriously wrong. I am now somewhat concerned about retaining the back room staff with the continuing state of limbo and uncertainty.

For those who like a quiz. Can you name the last 3 Welshman to sign for Palace. Not including current squad Welsh players or last season Ledley.

I'd imagine what's happened isn't Parishs fault. My guess would be he was lining up Pellegrino and he stalled to see if Southampton would come in for him. Then 11th hour they sack their manager and start talking to him. Parish then needs to start the whole process all over again which I assume he did almost instantly. So to think the delay is all down to parish I'd imagine is wrong.

If true that we are back in for Dyche then we are not as ambitious as I thought. Why the fixation on a British manager? I will put one question to you.....if you were a top (ish) player would your decision to move to come to us be greatly increased if Sean Dyche or Frank de Boer were manager? I appreciate that money and terms come into it but if on a level playing field what would he decision be? I hope we get de Boer but maybe if we don't it wasn't becuase we didn't try... Maybe de Boer doesn't want to risk his reputation with us. I'd love it if we sign him really would. Would help propel our international profile. Imagine just imagine we can sign say Inheancho and have a cracking season. Imagine the players he'd then attack from across Europe. Obviously not the best in the world, but maybe the best talent. I'm purring with the thought of de Boer at the helm for a few years.

agreed, but he still did and paid up, he could have asked AP to resign and MA would have been happy to let him go by mutual consent and saved us the compensation payment! Yes that ever so generous and charitable Mike Ashley. I've heard he's also a bit of a philanthropist, what with paying Sports Direct staff under the minimum wage with fines, women giving birth in the toilet. Yes Steve Parish must've lost his nous on that and chucked a few mil away unnecessarily. Very unlike Steve.

When it comes to managerial appointments, SP has got far more right than wrong. Freedman took us to the brink of promotion, Holloway carried us over the line, Pulis rescued us when Holloway struggled at the next level, Warnock struggled, Pardew again rescued us from the s*** as did Allardyce. With the exception of Warnock, I'd argue that every one of those managers was exactly what we needed at the time we appointed them. With that in mind, I have total faith in him finding the right man again regardless of how long it takes and think it's baffling that people are still questioning him. Actually saw someone moaning that we have been slower to appoint then Sunderland, Hull and Leeds, three of the worst run clubs going and all a division below us!
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |
