Excellent article.

I wonder how much washing powder was used last Friday morning after all the bed wetting by Remain voters when they heard the News?

BTW the dog that "howls to the news that Leave won" is actually reacting to the music his owner puts on his ipod player. My friends' dog does a similar thing to the Coronation St theme tune when it comes on the TV.

It is a good article though very one-sided. She hasn't addressed the concerns of the 16,000,000 Remainers nor has she mentioned that plenty of those Remainers were also working class but she most certainly did not forget to mention the 42% AB1s voting 'Leave'.

She's asking for unity yet bitching all the same.

Plus, it was in the Woman's Section of The Telegraph!

Funty?

I love the way the EU bureaucrats talk of 'punishing' the UK by insisting freedom of movement. So it's not a positive FOR US going by that language.

Whereas Merkel is caught between the panicking bullies o the EU and the heads of German manufacturing.

Hi there....

Well I didn't enjoy my walk.... it started raining and I found a young dead squirrel in the road, poor thing. Took it to the woods and gave him a little send off bless him.

I notice you said 'rarely' which gives me hope of seeing her lovely norks again in GoT.

Right I don't believe you do have an agenda and are genuine.

1. Controlled Immigration. As members of the EU we cannot control numbers or quality. We have to admit anyone from an EU country who wants to come here.
2. Sovereignty. We have to abide by the laws of the EU regardless of whether we agree with them. Leaving the EU leaves us free to pass our own laws as and when we see fit.
3. Membership Fees. The Gross cost of being a member is £350 Million per week. Currently we get rebates and refunds which nets the cost to us per year of £8 Billion. Lost forever every year and those rebates/refunds are not guaranteed in the future. That money can be reinvested into the NHS or some other good cause that we decide rather than the EU.
4. Further expansion of EU. More countries are being invited to join. That means potentially more immigrants. If Turkey joins that will mean an influx of more Muslims and the potential for possible terrorists to be amongst them.
5. Limited space in UK. We simply cannot accept any more mass immigration. Our population has grown from 50M to 65M in the last 50 years, but the last decade has seen the fastest growth.
6. Housing & Infrastructure. The level of population growth in point 5 above has meant we have a housing shortage. Not only that though - the associated infrastructure of schools, GP practices, hospitals, roads etc is already unable to cope. Add another 10 million people and it will collapse.
7. The EU is a failed experiment doomed to failure. Greece are on the brink of bankruptcy and others like Italy are heading for fiscal failure too. That means us being asked to pay more to bail them out.

You asked for 5, I gave you 7.

Over to Remain to give their 5 bullet points.

Thanks Hoof, appreciate that.

She's between a Rock Salmon and a hard Plaice.

She wants the EU to succeed but will get an absolute roasting if Audi, VW, Mercedes, Porsche lose their UK export sales.... let alone all the other manufacturers.

The UK is a big market for Germany.

Somethings gotta give!

We just need to hold our nerve.

Initially...... nothing.

As I said the EU are bricking it and will play hard ball to put off any other dissenters.

Trust me, the loss of £350M Gross per week from us, which equates to £8 Billion per annum will seriously fcuk up the EU economics.

As soon as we start blocking the trade from EU countries into the UK (German Cars, French produce, wine, Italian Wine, Greek Olive Oil) as a tit for tat gesture, they will buckle first, or have open revolt from the people who will be affected... just like our people who have suffered from the effects of mass immigration.

I don't see it happening - I think the EU is going to try and fcuk us over.

Although I also don't see a mass exodus of banks etc to Frankfurt or Dublin or Paris if we do lose access to the single market.

Farage and the EU deserve each other!
I've seen the EU nation heads immediately come out with a "we're not talking to you ner, ner, ner" followed by Junker's "why are you here?" when Farage turned up at the EU parliament (err, because we are still members, you kn0b)

Followed by Farage taking great pleasure in rubbing their noses in it with his "you're not laughing now" and "you've never had a job" stuff.

To be honest, if my kids came home with tales like this from school, I'd be inclined to tell them to grow up, it's a shame that those people "in charge" see fit to behave that way. It helps nobody.

The EU's responsibility is not to us, but to its self, which is part of why we left. Its not bully or punishing really, its leverage. The EU knows the UK is better off economically as part of the EEA, and knows that if it allows the UK to avoid freedom of movement, that other EU members will want to do the same.

Its not bullying, its how generally trade negotiations go, the strong exploit those in a weaker position. Its what we've done for centuries. The EU know they have a position of strength, and are doing exactly what we would do in the same place.

For the EU, the best outcome is that the UK flounders and comes back into the fold, chastened.

Of course they are, its in their interest. They hold a strong hand, we're the player at the table who might be bluffing. We might see a mass exodus of banks, what we might need is look at how to mitigate that loss, such as setting up a bank of our own to compensate for those departures etc. (Note I don't know whether that would work).

Thing is, we need that trade too, its a game of chicken, granted they're in a bigger car, but neither of us can afford to collide either.
