Clue is in the thread title. Personally, I could view this journalism as a bit of a distraction from their own activities. "Hey, look at this. Some other employer is abusing some of their staff too ! it's not just at the BBC"

The Edwards issue has rightly disappeared from the headlines once the Sun’s innuendos were exposed. Whether they will result in any action against the Sun remains to be seen.

The BBC handled it very well, too well for some of their own staff.

Exposing this story is what the BBC can do and the Sun may decide not to. McDonalds spend a lot on advertising.

I saw a credibility survey of UK media recently. Guess who came top, and bottom?

It was the BBC and The Sun!

Any idea which rated where?

I don't care - no one will listen to the BBC on a sex scandal. Why would they? They cancelled their own programme that exposed Saville. The Sun is sh1t but no one's forced to pay for it. It's pretty irrelevant. You don't like it because they've exposed another perv? What's not to like - The BBC has been literally full of them - surprised it's even news. Certainly not controversial, more par for the course.
I presume it was the BBC's own survey or one by the Guardian - where the BBC is half its customers. The other one would be Ofcom trying desperately to save the licence fee.

There are plenty of MacDonalds haters. All the radical vegans for a start. And presumably it's all a bit cheap and tacky for Guardian readers/BBC employees. However, there is nothing like the scale of BBC sex assaults and paedophilia there, no matter how you or others might wish it. Ronald MacDonald has not been feeling up kids in the back room, unlike Hall and Saville. Plus, MacDonalds aren't attempting to cover it up. They'll move on and remain popular enough. Any individuals involved will be sacked, and reported to police.

How do you know it’s not on the same scale? This story is in its early days and there is likely to be many thousands of both victims and abusers. Who knows what may have happened. How many were there at the BBC?

The BBC didn’t attempt to cover it up either, despite that being the perception held by many. They didn’t know. That they should have known is a matter they have accepted and rectified.

So now I am no one?

Lots of people pay heed to the BBC. Hence it topping the credibility ratings.

Only those with the kind of attitude you hold don’t and, other than in places like this, that’s a minority.

It's not paedophilia for a start. The inquiry into the BBC attempted to find numbers and is clearly available. You seem to have failed to have read it as Teddy Eagle pointed out several times. I believe Saville alone was 174 cases. Add in the loads of others and it's hundreds more.

Your opinion cannot remain valid on this issue when all the evidence says the opposite. No one is taking your argument seriously if they've researched the issue. You're spouting BBC spin just for the sake of it. Simply to get a ride out of people by the looks of it.

Then don't, hundreds of thousands if not millions now, don't pay the fee because they are fed up with the woke agenda & the crap they churn out. I haven't paid for years, tho, i do admit that partly living in Spain helps, interestingly enough, majority of people i've spoken to in Spain, do not rate the bbc at all.

Ignore the personal nonsense WE; the truth of the matter is that large numbers of people who post, especially vis a vis "political" matters hate being called out for the racist and bigotry they often express. You, very successfully, call it out on a regular basis - if you were not posting, the site would simply be an echo chamber of unchallenged, often far right, views. Keep going if you still have the energy!

If you see people making racist posts then call them out, as I do , don't hide behind the skirts of another .

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Innuendos? Nothing the Sun reported has been denied as far as I have seen. Happy to be corrected.
