This post has been merged from a topic called 'Who voted 'Yes' for Gaddafi?' by jcreedy IF we WERE to be taken over by Gaddafi or his sponsers/moneymen whatever you want to call them ALL the money made by club WOULD HAVE to go back in to the club and not in his or their pockets so we would NOT be funding terrorism in any way whatsoever. The ONLY way he could make money would be to SELL the club for more than he put in........Ask SJ about it he will tell you that most clubs run at a loss in some way or another UNLESS you are called Manure United who stitch up ALL of its fans. AS I SAID GADDAFI TAKING OVER............IT JUST AINT GONNA HAPPEN ANYWAY!!!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I can't see why he would want toinvest in us i mean we're hardly going to make him loads of money. We don't own the ground and don't have a very large squad (although Dowie is strengthening it now). But if he does then I wouldn't welcome it with open arms I'd be cautiously optimistic though as he does have SOOOOO much money! As far as his past goes, I know it wasn't pretty or in any way pleasant, but his past isn't going to affect our football is it? He hasn't tryed anything nutty recantly has he? so why would he suddenly start now? I voted "yes" but only I would have voted "unsure" if it was there. Knowing that everyone else would vote against I thought that this was as close as I could get to voting "unsure" because it would even out the results. I don't see how it could be bad for the club though. I mean The Premiership is dictated by money these days so why don't we want some? Why does it matter where it comes from? I don't really care! As far as where it comes from goes though. Libia have a f***ing lot of oil! Don't really see how it's all blood money. I know they can't trade it yet because he's been a naughty boy but they soon will be now Libia's been let back into the International community. Why can't you accept the possibility that he might have changed and just wants to run his country normally and get it back on tracks. Buying us isn't anything to do with that though but still its still possible he might have changed.

Well today a friend(James who is the assistant manager at the Gym I go to) told me this; His mother has worked at Palace for nearly 20 years as a pa/receptionist. Well recently she claims to have answered a call for SJ from someone claiming to be Gaddafi. Personally I was sceptical that Gaddafi would actually make that call himself but the call was received and more importantly it was put through to Jordan....and it was taken.

As if the colonel would actually ring SJ at SP where the call would be logged and possibly overheard. Plus its very very unlikely he would actually call himself. Its just not the way 'buisness' gets done. Still its a funny thought, "Hello may I speak to Mr Jordan please, 'who's calling', ITS COLONEL GADDAFI!"

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gaddafi..a rumour with some substance..' by Penge Eagle To be honest I am as sceptical as most of you but the person who told me this did so a while after it is supposed to have happened and as it was his mum who told him I have no reason to believe she is actually lying. If somebody called Gaddafi did actually call I reckon it is likely to have been his brother and that the story has been passed on incorrectly. Even if the person calling was on a wind up, the telling fact is that the call was taken.
