See the bookies have installed Roy as favourite to the next EPL manager to be sacked . . . [Link]
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

We got 2 points more in the last 4 games than I expected, but with proper in game management from the manager, it would have been at least 4 points. Sadly the only time he used his bench and managed properly was against City, where he was forced by an injury and the fact we were two down into doing the right thing. He's running his chosen few into the ground and it's costing us points IMO. There are no guarantees in football, but the last four games have proved that we are good enough to give every team in this division a very close game. We've deserved more, but we just run out of steam or we just refuse to try and win a game, cos the manager is terrified of changing things in case we lose, but in doing so he's ensuring we lose anyway. The only way we find out if players are good enough is to play them. Fcuk it, after 19 games we should already know if they are good enough, cos they should have the minutes under their belts already. For the record I'd have bought on França for Eze and Ahamada for Mateta on 75-80 mins, moving Ayew up top. Then Ozoh for Richards a few minutes later. As I say there are no guarantees, but at least I can say that I tried everything to get something from the game.

If you're going to change the manager, the time to do it is during the break in January. It would be good for all the players at Palace to start with a clean slate and have a fresh opportunity.

At one point in the commentary it was revealed Palace have had 80 corners this season with not one goal resulting (only team in the prem without a corner goal). This can't all be bad luck or poor finishing. It smacks of a lack of a corner strategy, or routines or just trying different things. We have become very solid defending corners but bereft of ideas or imagination in taking them. This has to be a coaching issue. Perhaps, another example where defensive coaching is more evident than offensive. Roy has been brilliant for us but he looked a tired and beaten man last night. I would be disappointed to see him leave on a low but if we fail to beat Brentford then I think he will go.

It reminds me of when I handed in my notice at my first proper job I honestly thought I'd still be the model employee in my two weeks of notice - in the end I was sent home after 3 days because actually I couldn't give a stuff because why would I? You need a manager, regardless of ability, who's fighting for their career, their reputation or to try and get a better job. Someone with skin in the game. I like Roy, but Roy can do what he likes, say what he likes and deep down has absolutely nothing to motivate or push him so he's not gonna be staying up all night trying to find the way to unlock the teams potential, why should he? Whilst refreshing candour is always appreciated his slating the fans for being spoilt, telling the press Chelsea wont be "worried about the team he's bringing" and everything else is just symptomatic of someone who is beyond comfortable in their situation, and his comfort will in no way be impacted by the teams form. He needs to go, and we just need frankly anyone right now who might give it a f**king good go at it because as someone else said we're in freefall right now.

There are those who believe he will be in situ for the Brentford game and dearly hope that we fail to secure the victory as they believe this will signal the departure of our manager. Suffice to say he has become 'Persona Non Grata' amongst sections of our fanbase. In football as in life one day one is cock of the walk, another a feather duster.

I still think he’ll be here for the rest of the season, I’m sure SP will be thinking he’s still that safe option that will still grind out enough points to get us to safety despite the terrible run we’re on This is what I think parish will be thinking, not me, personally I’d take the chance now and pull the trigger just to liven things up but then relegation doesn’t particularly bother me, been there, done that several times
