Lads, I rarely post on the site, more of a daily observer of everyone else's great posts but felt the need on this occasion to drop a post.

From my perspective I wouldn't worry at all about the process of the main stand on how long it's taking etc. As a qualified architect and having worked on a few stadiums globally, the process for these types of buildings are so difficult on several levels from planning to the construction complexities of the site specifics. Given selhurst park is bang in London in a dense urban environment will only add to the long drawn out process to make sure we have complied with all pre start conditions and there's also the added complexity of finding the right tier 1 main contractor for the job which is a limited pool in the UK.

In the background I'm pretty sure it'd been chugging along daily with developed drawing material in the background and various discharges of planning conditions. I could be wrong but for me there's nothing that's come to light which I thought would be a non startedr to the project.

From what I've read/heard my undestanding it was kicking off around September this year. Hopefully 2026 season we should see tenstand in all it's glory (par no major delays once site works commence!) Which should align nicely then we start are road to European glory 😉 COYP!

B cause of ill health I haven't been able to gone SP for ages, but to sit in the new stand once completed will be brilliant and definitely something on my list of things to do and enjoy

Yep, me too PJ, haven't been since 2018, but I must say this new look stadium is stunning, well certainly when compared with the existing stand. I just hope I'm still around to see it finished, even if only on TV.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

"Preliminary building projects relating to the first stages of construction are underway". Wow that's a relief, hooray!!! We still haven't bought those six houses and we're looking for which supplier can sell us the concrete, glass and steel. This press release looks like it's been written by Grant Schapps, or another skilled BS artist. Hopefully they are genuinely reorganising the ground so they can start the building work - but that press release looks like a sop to us impatient fans, impatient to see the back of that cow shed we laughably call the main stand.

I'm not going to repeat myself, you'll have to read it again. Basically they've used big words to make it look like things have started when they haven't.

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. As I understand it from the PR we have done some minor preliminary work to clear certain key areas however we do not yet have a builder or start date?
