The culture secretary, Nadine Dorries, has granted listed status to the plaque of Cecil Rhodes at Oxford.

Seems that the only half way Tories left in the party are women, her and Kemi....I wonder if Truss would have done it.

Dorries is a thoroughly nasty piece of work who will have only done this for effect, and not through any sense of conviction.

She is no Tory. Not of the kind I remember and respect.

I cannot recall anything she has said that I agreed with. If she represents today's Tory Party, then they have no hope whatsoever.

That's good as far as it goes but is it enough?

Looks like you're just going to have to 'embrace' change then doesn't it.

Enjoy.

That's true. And after her resounding success in opening new pork markets the voters of Melton Mowbray should be aspic in her hands.

Leicester's a notoriously red constituency.

I won't be embracing a Party which has changed beyond recognition.

The change I, and I suspect millions of others will make, is to the Party I will vote for. Which one that is depends on many things, many of which are yet unknown.

Oh I see.

So 'embracing change' is for others to do.

You on the other hand get to dismiss it if you don't like it.

Some might call that the height of hypocrisy.

It's like a really bad sweet shop where your only choice is between two Hershey's bars. Which no one would ever choose if they had Cadburys.

Yes sir, or that box of celebrations at Xmas which only has Mars bars or Milky Way left in it!

You search desperately for a perhaps yet undiscovered galaxy or even snickers but in any case it’s better than the after eights where one might be a pleasant experience every now and then but the whole box is viscerally repellent and not quite what is used to be.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
