You might well be right . Playing well in under 21 is one thing, but the PL totally different. But being a perpetual optimist, he might make it as a back up squad CB?

Take a look at Gundogen. He was plagued with musculoskeletal injuries in his earlier career.
But I hear what you are all saying. Pro sport can be cruel.

Thats an interesting thought .Maybe our Nathan has had the same problem . I believe Gundogen had a issue with muscle /bone separation during growth spurts . Which means now he at 23 has probably stopped growing his body will settle down to the demands of pro sport .

It would also explain why the club has stood by him , it was all just a matter of time .

IF we had the money and IF we had a normal squad he may be worth a gamble.

But we don’t have money to speculate and we have a squad which is getting on towards 50 per cent made of sick notes unable to play 2 games in a row or 20 games a season.

Unless we have a major cull and ditch 10 to 12 players in the summer he is not worth retaining.

We could sign him to play in the Pete the Eagle costume. I doubt he'd last the season though.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that we are only paying him £5000 a week (of course thats still a nice wage for most people but in the realms of moneybags football at least its not outrageous) I would hope that we have reached an agreement that our commitment to him has been strong but until he is in a position to be considered for senior football (if ever) we have to be prudent on salary -

I see the U21 are up against Everton on Monday night - the game will probably be shown on Palace TV so it will be interesting to see if Nathan is included & how he gets on.

I think Palace have been admirable by sticking with him.

But even if fully fit now, I think having got him to that point it's time to wish him well and let him go in the summer.

I seriously doubt he can cope with the intense requirements of the EPL.

Carlo Nash ? I haven't checked yet

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
