You see it a lot with people resisting green policies; they quote an extreme position and claim that’s what’s being forced on them, but the reality isn’t that at all.

I think the point of my post was clear. Politicians, celebrities etc lecturing the rest of us on our behaviour whilst flying around the world themselves. Khan is now claiming that ULEZ will reduce carbon emissions as well as reduce air pollution. It appears that others including the Lib Dems disagree so he is pursuing a policy that will hurt ordinary Londoners whilst not actually doing what it's supposed to do. What we need are realistic solutions.

It's still the case that if you can afford to pay the ULEZ charge the planet just has to get on with it.

Absolutely there are some raging hypocrites in this space, but the Mail have been running stories on ‘celebrity A’ catching a flight for years as if it’s a major gotcha, despite no serious green position ever being that no one should catch a flight. The consequence of these stories is people end up feeling much more ‘attacked’ than ever was the reality.

And the government isn't going to tax air travel (in fact air travel benefits from tax breaks) so why do you need to get worked up about it?
