De Boer was given his marching orders after just four terrible games without a goal. We're halfway there and have an away trip to Old Trafford next.

I don't really blame Roy I blame the board for an absolutely neglectful and irresponsible lack of investment. We sold our second best player and, like normal, spent none of it choosing to scrape around the bargain bin instead.

We have an aging squad and I believe, but don't quote me on this, have the oldest first choice starting eleven in the league.

With Wilf's head clearly elsewhere we are utterly devoid or ideas and enthusiasm and it is criminal that we didn't invest in some young players.

Unfortunately with the horrible run of games ahead, Roy will probably be the fall guy as we attempt to repeat our mid-season managerial trick yet again. It's pathetic.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Good post. Needed a boost in the summer with some new blood. Our performance today with no vim largely sums up the mood currently.

What the hell do you think people could possibly make of that sh1t show today. Clueless tactics, uninspired players. The manager has to take some blame for that so get off your high horse. You are no better than anyone else on here who feels robbed by that performance.

Yeah he does but calling for him to be sacked on the back of that is clueless. It was a s*** show by all involved l, not just Roy to blame

It was predictable how Sheffield would play. Palace should have known, but just didn’t cope ,with the pace and aggression that Sheffield base their game on.
This looked like a Championship game full of late tackles and pull backs, wild shooting. Palace just couldn’t get anything going.

What a shocking game - a very poor advert for the PL.
My hat goes off to our fans who paid to watch a team that did not seem to be trying.

I thought the ref. was the Man of the Match - excellent PL debut for him.

I hope one of our new signings is good at taking free kicks and corners - Luca claims all these and his only style is a high floater to a non jumping Benteke.

If the manager plays the same team and tactics next week I think I'll give up.

it's embarrassing isn't it, premier league and we haven't even got a player who can take set pieces. hopefully camarasa can. come to think of it apart from townsend can any of our player actually cross a ball?? ward, pva , meyer?? and yet we play benteke up top who thrives on crosses. clueless. surely its time for a manager change now, i love roy but surely we can get someone younger with new ideas who can get the best our of our attacking players?

I said to supporters after the window closed that this would be a real season of struggle and I am even more convinced of it after today's performance.

Weaknesses in both full-back positions, strikers who don't score goals,I could go on and on and on.
This cannot be allowed to continue - something will have to change and I wouldn't be surprised to see Hodgson go if this rot continues game on game.

Absolutely spot on - Ward absolutely turned inside out for the first goal and offers absolutely nothing going forward. As for PVA don’t get me started!!!

Up front we have two lumps that have as much movement as a mannequin! Added to that no midfielders get forward to pick up any second balls! We haven’t got a goal in us and the frustrations are that all supporters could see this coming.

Our passing is sooooo slow and only ever backwards or sideways. Never crisp or forward thinking!

Shocking performance offering very little to look forward to.

We need to stop with this Meyer experiment. If there is no place for him in the team then so be it. He is not a left winger.

Get Zaha and Townsend onto the wings where they belong.

PVA is just s***e, end of discussion.

Schlupp should never be allowed near a football pitch ever again.

Jimmy Mac is done for at this level, hopefull McCarthy stays fit because we badly need him.

Luka gets away with blue murder by the fans week in and out. His set pieces are appaling and he is not contributing much else.

We can critise Benteke all we like but what in the name of god is he supposed to do with service like that.

Roy needs to grow some balls and drop some of his favourites because that was up there with a performance from when FDB was in charge.

Sheffield United looked like a newly promoted team full of running, headless tackles and lots of enthusiasm. We were just awful. Beyond awful. We saw a lot of depressing displays last season, but I think this tops them. Wilf still looks like he's on the beach and our midfield lacked any form of creativity.

The best tactic was when we took off the one midfielder who was not a central midfielder and brought on another central midfielder - outstanding!

There is hope in that Camarasa's best position is as a supporting forward, so once he is fit I think this midfield and attack could get us goals, albeit we'll have 12 central midfielders on the bench:

Townsend McArthur/McCarthy Luka Zaha

Camarasa

Bentenke/Wickham

More likely we'll probably finish the season with all the central midfielders on the pitch.

I agree with the general thrust of these sentiments.
It was a terrible watch for us supporters and I suspect this won't be the end of it.
