I suppose SP took a look at the general makeup of the PL this season and concluded that a) enough teams are still fragile against Zaha b) at least three teams have worst overall first-choice defenses than our first-choice back five. As for the striker, I'm not sure one will come in. The plan is probably to play Ayew/Schlupp more on the wings and play Wilf through the middle for most of the season, so in SP's mind that solves the striker issue. Whilst you may well be correct your post does expose a huge problem with our club if you are right in that SP is the chairman and not the manager and shouldn't be involving himself in football matters to that extent

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I saw a 'League table' on Facebook yesterday on what clubs have spent during the window. I can't remember the exact figure, but Palace had spent (so far) around 2.75M

I subject myself to reviewing this site every morning just to get off to a depressing start. Where you find out that every team in the top 5 leagues (and beyond if you review the "to"s) can make deals, loans, swaps, cheap, expensive - just loads of deals (total numbers admittedly blown out by the releases at the end of each season). Even Brighton....

8 days and 9 hours to go, and the only player we've brought in that we didn't have last season is probably 500/1 to see any league football this season. And even then we've gone from 4 keepers to 3. So, we've net lost Man United's right back; Chelsea's striker; Bakary Sako; Jason Puncheon; and Lucas Perri. Hopefully Jach and Sorloth are alright after all, otherwise we'll need to work out who's going to be playing for the U23s given the academy are filling the first team bench. Gets funnier with every day that passes. Less depth than a sheet of clingfilm. We need _so_ much to happen this week in arrivals. Fingers crossed!

Yes, where is Jach, not been involed at all, 2.5 million well spent

Jach is utter rubbish, I watched a development game on Palace TV where he played. Infact, he gave away the only goal of the game, the idiot decided to duck under a long through ball, the forward said thank you very much and scored. Who ever scouted him must have been on the Tyskie.
