Goals for Norway? Try 2 in 15 appearances. Both in friendlies, both against Iceland. In the Dutch top flight, the best league he has played in, he bagged 5 goals in 38 appearances. Sorloth has started several games for us already. So if Ayew has had a chance, and Sorloth hasn’t, how many minutes exactly constitutes a chance? He needs to go out on loan. Edited by Maine Eagle (06 Nov 2018 1.21pm) Good to see our research and appraisal was up to scratch and the £10 mil invested when we need a scorer sooner was value for money.

Edited by Maine Eagle (06 Nov 2018 1.21pm) Last season he started 4 PL games, all when Zaha was missing and 3 of them were against Tottenham,Man Utd and Chelsea. This season he hasn't started a PL game.Started 3 EFL Cup games and scored the winner against Swansea.

Sørloth was today dropped from the Norway squad due to lack of playing time at Palace, Personally I believe only a run of matches in the first team could rescue his career at Palace - and I still believe he has the talent

Suddenly paying a bung to Oumar Niasse's cousin seems look a good idea, doesn't it? LOL. Or was it his brother. Sometimes I believe our player research involves a dart board, Erdal Rakip, anyone? We forked out nearly 10 mil on a player who has had moderate success in the Norwegian and Danish top flights, but resoundingly flopped when he stepped up to Holland, and was shipped back to Scandinavia. Its the original "take a flyer" type move, on a Sun Jihai kind of a vibe. Except Jihai could play a bit. If you open a dictionary right now, and turn to the section which explains the term "immediately needs to go out on loan" you will see a picture of Sorloth. In our position it was a poor, poor signing. Benteke totally misfiring and prone to the odd injury, Wickham questionable to ever return fully, and we bring in Ayew on loan and Sorloth. P%ss poor.

Depends what one deems "Several" ! At the end of the day Hodgson doesn't consider him worth a start on a regular basis and has on occasions preferred to play Zaha and Townsend away from their natural and probably their preferred positions rather than give Sorloth a chance up front.Maybe this affects Sorloth's confidence ! It would appear that many have given up on Sorloth concluding that he will never have sufficient ability to play in the PL.I continue to reserve judgement.

In terms of Ayew, I suppose that the rationale was that he did score 11 goals for Swansea last season, a team that got relegated. And he did score twice against us last season ! That said, most of the signings during the Hodgson era have failed to catch the imagination of supporters with some being viewed with incredulity.Financial constraints of course play their part. Willo you jumped into a question I was posing to someone else, about what supported the claim that Jordan Ayew has had a chance, and Sorloth hasn't. That person suggested Sorloth needs to start a few games for us to be given a chance. I countered that he has started several games already. I have not given up on Sorloth, but that doesnt mean he wasnt a sh&t signing. He needs to out out on loan to a lower level club to find some form and adjust to the English game, otherwise he will never succeed at the Palace.

He is as strong on the ball and in the tackle as a newborn kitten taking its first steps.

Still maintain that the lad hasn't had any proper opportunities. Start him for 5 on the trot and see how he goes. We can't do much worse. He looks to have al l the attributes.
