If you hadn't watched the game, you'd look at the stats - 53/47 possession, 10 shots vs. 5, 4 on target vs. 2 - and think that 2-1 sounds about right.

T'is a funny old game.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

got out of jail tonight. good to see wilf shut up watford fans. think id be tempted to play sako instead of townsend next game. he's gone back to being dross again lately. might give him a kick up the arse being benched. same with replacing jimmy mac for cabaye, who looked like he had lurpak on his boots. shame we have some crap in the squad tho. bentek-ingthepiss, did jack s*** again. and pva, and schlupp are both awful. is souare not fit to play yet?

Lovely acting by Watford in the last 10 minutes and almost played the ref for the entire second half with their dirty fouls going unpunished every time we were on the ball in the second half.

I heard their supporters for the first time today. The kind folk were giving Zaha some motivation. The rest of the game they must have just been being silent so their team could concentrate.

Shame they got caught out. If only they'd remembered it was a football game.

I felt we needed 5 points at least from the 4 matches from Bournemouth onwards to keep in touch. I expected us to beat Bournemouth, draw with Watford, lose to Leicester and draw with Swansea. We're still on target, albeit in a roundabout way. Got to feel good about tonight after the disappointment of Saturday.

Thank you Wilf. Made both goals. I love him (in a manly way, of course).

Anybody noticed that's Roy's use of subs seems to pay dividends each time. When Pardew used subs, almost guaranteed a defeat in his last few months.
Got to hand it to Roy, he knows what he is doing, regardless of some of the less flattering comments he gets from the usual doom merchants on here.

My thought from my seat in the upper was that we're much better with Wilf out wide. Gets more of the ball. Gets the ball into the danger zone. Should help Benteke if Wilf spends more time out wide in my opinion. No coincidence both goals were from Wilf getting the ball out wide

I would have loved to be listening in on the Watford dressing room after the game.

Massive result this is especially with 2 tough away games coming up we still have a long way to go but still think we need 4 points from the next 2 games would give us 18 points going into a tough Christmas period but it's a great start

Their fans' fora are quite amusing right now if you fancy a laugh. They are *not* happy with Tom Cleverly.

Obviously they think van Aanholt should have gone as well but after 75 minutes of no cards except one for Milivojevic asking him a question FFS, he could hardly start brandishing straight reds for first bad but not outrageous tackles. That t*** Madley would have sent him off though and enjoyed doing it.

Agree on Townsend, Cabaye not that bad IMHO, some decent long passes, again Benteke did not contribute anything game changing. Schlupp barely OK, PVA usual rubbish. Good from Sako and the ever reliable JImmy Mac.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
