I appreciate what you’re saying but that’s the nature of the game they’re all aware of, for longer than it used to be at least, and if 1 is injured which isn’t unusual, that’s just 1 on the bench. What if 2 are injured? When you look at that list you see again why they want to sell/swap Riedewald out. Yeah. People talk about moving to the next level. For smaller better connected squads you can also read weak in depth. You want to be a top half fixture, this requires a much better squad. So... We've lost Mutch, Lee and Cabaye and have so far acquired Kouyate and Meyer - one clear upgrade and one who could improve on his predecessor. This means we actually have one space to fill in midfield, ideally a winger (Bolasie?). If he returns, RLC would be "replacing" himself and would not upset the balance in what finished the season a very balanced and formidable team. Sadly for them, there will have to be a lot of crocs for Williams, Riedewald or the youth to get serious game time.

Completely agree with the need for a stronger squad...but how do we then keep them all hungry and happy? Do we think that Roy will rotate a little more this time round in order to keep players fresh and our opponents guessing?

I know this is the mirror but it seems according to the premiere league he has signed on loan for us This has since been corrected and may be a glitch but one can hope it's true. Edited by Phodeagle (06 Aug 2018 5.02pm)

Earlier subs we hardly made at all last season and arguably contributed to later problems, and Cup runs (salivating like a dog at the thought)

To have Loftus Cheek back plus Meyer joins as an attacking midfielder would be a definite upgrade, providing Zaha stays of course!

According to The Guardian that Premier League site also has Fosu-Mensah as a place player for 18-19. It is a mistake, as it is for RLC.

Neither SkySports.com Transfer Centre nor BBC.com Confirmed Transfers page has anything concerning RLC or TFM. My guess is that those reporting this have confused their years in an effort to "Get it first, get it fast, get it now." Obviously they couldn't care less about getting it right. FPL has RLC as a Chelsea midfielder with a value of 5.5 mil.

'Chelsea will look to loan RLC to a top side in one of Europes better leagues' Yeah.... Cos there's loads of leagues in Europe better than the Premiership... Absolute nonsense reporting yet again.

More talk of Kovacic going to Chelsea. If he joins, RLC will be competing with Kovacic for a place in their middle three
