If up to 3 clubs are interested in him, then surely we must have put him in the shop window ourselves? If the rumours are to be believed, it looks to me like we're shipping him out to bring a new striker in. He must be worth around £10m, ridiculous I know but about the going rate.

Connor Wickham is a very talented player as has been recognised by many knowledgeable managers in the past. However, this is his make or break season. Clear of injuries he is an asset and skilfully better than Benteke. Who knows, we might have won the Man Utd Cup Final until that big tit, Clattenburg, twice blew up for a foul instead of playing advantage when he was away on goal. I really do hope his lamentable injury record is a thing of the past - we desperately need him.

He is under contract, so if he is wanted there should be a fee. If he is to stay. From a playing point of view, after being out for so long, a loan in the Championship, would be better for him than the odd few minutes with us. Maybe that’s the idea.

If we can just keep him fit then he will get stronger and stronger as the months go past and you never know how good he can be. Sheff Utd have paid 17 odd million for Mcburnie who will be lucky to score 2 goals all season and I know who I would rather have.

I would like him to try and get his form back playing for us, but equally I wouldn't want to rely on him as our only backup to Bentenke (I refuse to see Ayew as a centre forward)

Research serious knee ligament injuries and you will find just what a slim chance Connor has of returning to his former glory. He is just too old and been out too long to regain his pace carrying the scars of his unfortunate injuries brought on by a level of football beyond his body's level of tolerance.

Nor is he someone we can afford to take a chance on at 60k p/w. Why the f*** did we renew that contract?

I suppose because Parish felt there would be some value there moving forward as opposed to Connor becoming a free agent. Reckon we will be lucky to see a year's salary for him, e.g. £3m, so seemed hardly worth it and if he goes out on loan and gets another injury, well it could prove more bad decision making at the helm of CPFC.
