I do like some aspects of Trump, but mostly he's an arse. I just don't put devil horns on him like you lot because I actually like low key nationalism and think it's healthy. But that's independent of his policies....many of which I don't agree with.

Sanders would have been interesting...Rubio is probably the brightest the Republicans have from the candidates last time.

Watched his latest press interview over Charlottesville.

What I can say is that he's too defensive and has a ridiculously aggressive relationship with the press core. His initial statement was fine and there was no need to add to it. He's already condemned the far right before and he shouldn't have an issue doing it when a women lies murdered.

He's right to point to violence from the left as well, but perhaps that was for another time.

No Kermit, if you think I sympathize with the aims of the far right, you're an idiot. I've criticised them countless times....obviously flies over your head.

I repeat again, what has Trump said in support of the far right.

Once again, I find this idea that Trump is controlling what is retweeted of the thousands of messages he receives as dubious....Maybe, maybe not. I know for a fact that his enemies look to trip him up all the time on twitter....they sit on there all the time.

I don't even like most of Trump's policies....but unlike the 'progressives' on here I believe in rational fair analysis. You just show me suspicion.

I know Trump is soft focused on those groups for the reasons that they vote for him....that said he has criticised them and rightly so.

Maybe he's said something I haven't catched but so far I haven't seen anything wrong with his comments.

I don't buy into your virtue signalling Olympics sorry.

Ok 'sympathiser' was a tad strong. But you certainly are ignoring what is in front of you in order to defend Trump's connections to white quasi-Nazi nationalism. I gave the evidence as you required (from another poster) but you waved it away.

2. You are sounding like DT now.

But with the left it is selective caring.

An example to illustrate this is in South Africa, Sharpeville in 1960 = endless 'caring', Marikana in 2012 = who 'cares'.

The left only 'cares' if it helps further their agenda.

I do wave that away because it wasn't evidence. I asked for comments and you produced none. Instead you typed about twitter retweets, which we can't be sure about.

I've typed about why Trump is more soft focused on the right. But you ignore it and say I defend Trump's connection to 'white Nazi nationalism'. I just think that's the usual hyperbolic stuff to create your evil bogey man....Trump is your 'other' button. I'm watching the opposite of the tea party and in truth they are little better in terms of the extent of the lengths they will go to.

Hysterical, hyperbolic reactions. In the meantime the world will keep turning.

I asked you who is defending these groups.

And you come back with this reply and accuse me of being mentally unwell.....Sigh.

Not accusing, I just asked

Trump and those defending Trump are defending the actions of the KKK and Nazis. My original post wasn't directed at anyone on the boards.

Promoting far-right others' tweets is comment enough. Words aren't always needed when actions say it all. Evidence is not always verbal and you won't get on his back nor outrightly come down hard on the neo-nazis because they are your enemy's enemy from what I can see.

How do you know Trump is retweeting everything you point to? Don't you think that he has twitter handlers?

That's why I ask for comments....What you give me carries no substance.

So you think he runs the presidency, has all those meetings, plays all that golf, does all that press.....but he's reading everything and retweeting so Kermit can say he supports white nationalism.....and of course...no ones trying to set him up are they Kermit.

I don't ever want you in a jury involving me as you can't seem to find the flaws in this simplistic stuff. Still, people don't think too hard when something fits their prejudices.

What he sees is very obviously filtered.

Again...and as usual I'm having to repeat myself here. Show me what comments Trump has made that show support for the far right? If you produce one I'll probably support you and criticise it.

As for Milo being a Neo Nazi and some Israelis are Nazis....Well, I think that just reveals all anyone needs to know about your views.

For a 'progressive' to complain about Nazis so much you wouldn't think that the Labour party wasn't the biggest safe space around for anti semitism in the country.....oh wait...the grass roots and some of the upper tiers are full of it...hates nazis...has a lot of anti Semitic sentiment....no cognitive dissonance there at all is there.....As for you and your 'some Jews' are Nazis....well, at least you have a nice line in comedy.

Mr Gristle may support you and the rest of the 'progressive/regressives on here so I'll leave you to foam at the mouth with them. I can only cope with a certain about of crazy for one evening.

I am beginning to wonder if you can read! Do you know what a "Retweet" is? Trump posted a far right Twitter meme on his Twitter account and was roundly condemned for doing so because it conferred that he agreed with it. He has done such stupid things before. It is not the practice on Twitter to repost things you disagree with, unless you subsequently criticise them.

I said, and I meant, that some Israelis show Nazi like tendencies. Not that they were full blown Nazis, as that would be impossible, but on the road to being neo-Nazis. Just as Milo does. I realise that they would reject the epithet, as you have, but that doesn't mean that there is a grain of truth to be faced there.

I am no more a supporter of the Labour party, or any other left wing organisation as I am of the far right or Trump. I follow several Trump supporters FB groups and I read many comments similar to those you have been making, including those that feel that other opinions are crazy. The divide in the USA is so wide these days that it looks impossible to heal. Of course the right blame the Democrats, and especially Obama and Clinton along with anyone who isn't like them, Mexicans, Muslims etc etc. I have encountered some seriously disturbing attitudes from many US citizens who I have known in recent years. Their views on such as guns and race seem from a past age and very alien to British ears.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

The US is a different culture. In some ways I agree with you eagle....sure in lots of ways I feel that their system could be improved, healthcare and guns are two obvious examples where they continued down a path that has led to problematical consequences.

Still, in some other ways I regard them as superior to us, the first amendment rights, for example....we say we have 'freedom of speech' over here but we don't compared to them and what we have is under threat from 'progressives'. A small example of which can be seen in their nonsensical 'words as violence' pursuit in another thread.....Also in the increasingly progressive like behaviour and attitudes of even conservative politicians in this country. I also like their view of themselves as a nation state....their 'American exceptionalism'. I don't buy into it and it's a bit corny but its a better cohesion than the non solutions and division that so called leaders here reside over.

Of course the progressives in America are also implementing their ideologies where they can as can be seen in the microcosm of the google memo sacking, company bullying and so on......But regardless of these well intentioned but misguided people the American constitution is in no threat due to the nature of the political set up.....so the industries that progressives inhabit just creates a wider polarisation within society....we need more moderates...more liberals.

I genuinely feel a return to McCarthyism is likely at some point in the future.

This all seems a bit sprawling though. I think it's important to be focused and to not appear to be lashing and thrashing out. There are a lot of problems on the right but we do need to hold a mirror up to its opposite and see how the interplay between these world views doesn't help.

I don't much like listening to the constant forensic examination of every minority group going and people lauding over them, but by the same token I'm definitely not into fixations on cultural appropriation where people lose their minds over a white guy with dreadlocks and the like. All of these attitudes are attempts to control people.

I do understand 'in the now' though, as a result of this white supremacist march why that would be the focus right now. The president does not appear to understand that. Not messing this one up was a gimme. It must be incredibly difficult being in the GOP right now because you're forever cleaning up your own presidents playpen. The tone of a president, as the figurehead of a nation is important.

He didn't need to conjure up some kind of huge imaginary antifa presence at this rally. All of the evidence suggests this was mostly local people besieged by a multitude of organised white supremacist groups. He berated the media and said he'd seen what he happened and understood it better than they do. It was a repeat of his 'crowd' size delusion at the start of his presidency. He always 'knows better' generally while simultaneously saying something that is patently false.

Antifa were at that rally.....they follow the fascists around all the time. And they were involved in violence.

Does that look like local people to you? They blocked the path and threw the first punch.

This was a fight waiting to happen and it's only going to get worse.
