I just wonder why sam left so abruptly if just wants to retire he could have had meeting with players and staff explained the situation and assured them of a smooth transition. why just go from a meeting with sp and clear his desk? seems more like an angry reaction than a planned controlled one Firstly I agree with you and secondly it's spelt Madeira

A decision to retire could have included a transitional and handing over period and would have been a lot fairer on us than dropping a bombshell out of a clear sky. He was still under contract for another couple of years; surely a few weeks wouldn't have made any difference to his long-term plans? Because of the way it happened, despite the statement, there will remain questions that, I doubt, will ever be answered.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'why so abrupt departure' by Guntrisoft Personally and with no inside knowledge I said last night manchester had something to do with it. Looks like my theory may hold water. I did admittedly lay into him when the rumours were in full force yesterday tea time. When I read his statement in full it became clearer. It was quite emotional and I felt from the heart. Something personal happened to him to make him feel that way I am absolutely convinced of it
When I was a young girl my Mother said to me.. You listen here kid you're CPFC |

I agree OneWay... If he's being honest then I've got no probs with his departure. It sucks, but family / health come first.

If what Allardyce has said (and I have no reasons not to believe him) in so much as he wants more time with family etc. then its surely better for us that he resigns now rather than starting a new season with this on his mind thinking 'should I have stayed or should I of gone'. I imagine that transfer windows can be very tiring mentally and frustrating although enjoyable and challenging for the manager in so much as he can make changes he feel are required in changing the side with the resources whether these be in transfer fees or wages he has and that would apply to ALL managers. I wonder if before you had the two transfer windows managers found it better because he could change the side during the season rather than the pressure of knowing you had one big chance (during the close season) and a smaller chance (during January) to make changes and get it right. My thanks to Sam and back up staff in saving us from relegation. Great job done.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |
