This is such sad news. Often this website can become a slanging match as we all seek to hammer home our opinions of a game we love. However, the loss of staffie should remind us that the primary objective of this website is to keep palace fans worldwide informed of palace related issues whilst creating a terrific online community. Staffie's continuous desire to contribute to this site for no reason other than to share links that would please us all was something I much appreciated. There was literally never a moment when I was unable to find a link from Staffie. It's only until Saturday I realised how, quite frankly, I took this man's efforts for granted. I never met him. But it's fair to say that in the HOL community this chap will be missed hugely. RIP Staffie. If I have one regret it was that i never properly thanked you for all your efforts.

I'm stunned by this news So sad. I've been a member of this site for about 3 years now and in my whole time, I've never seen anybody who was so loyal, passionate, helpful and selfless as staffie and this is a massive loss, not only to the HOL but to the world. As a few people have said, I spoke to him over PM as well and he, without question, regularly used to supply me with links to the cricket and rugby league as well as obviously with the football links. Absolutely stunned. RIP staffie mate. You are forever a hero E you've been a member longer than 3 years were a couple of the originals more like 13 he will be missed I've changed it now, I meant to write 13!

Completely gutted. A top bloke who will be missed greatly. Not only did he help people with links to games but also to links for sponsoring people for charitable causes etc. Really hope the club do something to remember him by. Not many people would spend so much time doing so much to help so many people. R.I.P. staffie , and thank you so much

Such sad news to a true gent on this site! Shame I never got the pleasure of meeting the person who provided many match links and obscure one's in my case for betting. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him! GT

I think that would please the man no end Kerm old fruit, I will do the very same.
He really did love his dogs. Great shout. Will try and pop into either the PDSA or NCDL when I'm up in Clapham ...or even the Blue Cross - where he took all his dogs to be treated.

This is the saddest news. You were the one that made the HOL feel like a community, staffie. Always there to help out a fellow Palace fan without fuss or bother. You will be so missed.

Such a help and a great man to send me links before you posted some, don't know why you respected my taste but I always respected your comments on the links and you never let me down. I am gutted that I didn't see this post when you were in hospital and you won't see this but you will be greatly missed by many on here. HOL has lost a big chunk of these boards. R.I.P Staffie you true legend and gent
