Waste of potential 12 million on Gomis & Gestarde if the rumours are true, our current squad are currently providing a much improved rate of firepower thankfully & there must be far better than the double G's on offer if we must spend

True the goals do seem to there at the moment but a unfortunate glut of injuries to key players it could dry up & with a slender buffer could suffer. I guess there's a balance of prudence to be considered with strengthing.

That is true we need backup but to spend the suggested 9 and 6 mil on these players is very expensive backup. If we are to spend this type of money they need to be nailed on starters who can guarantee goals. Are we sure these two players are that?

Looking at it that way it does seem expensive for backups maybe other options have to be considered. I guess some sense of reality has to be recognised with the so-called figures quoted echoing 1 of holloways quotes in the mirror in bygone times it really is a meat market out there.

Spend the money on a LEFT BACK. Did you see Ward's display against Southampton? We ideally want another right-footed Ward.

Ward is playing out of position as is Kelly. They deserve better!

Better still, a LEFT footed Ward.

For me it should be one or the other, Gomis or Gestarde, not both. Too much cash..

Like on the Joel Ward thread regarding slapping a massive price tag on him to deter interest, maybe this is what Monk's doing.

This one, and the Gestede interest has legs, I reckon it'll be one or the other. What will be worth watching is who will cave first out of Swansea or Blackburn. I'm hoping it's Blackburn.

It seems that Gomis received a signing on fee of £8m payable over the four years of his contract which they are committed to paying whether he stays or not and it is this payment that Swansea are trying to recoup if he's sold

With extra security after the shenanigans of the Provisional HF last time round.

Just read that on deadline day, the Sky reporters will either pre-record their reports or make live reports from inside the training grounds of all clubs due to various issues on the last deadline day.
