I am going to put Don Rogers Tache's 40 pence on Craig Short being the only one on our very short, short-list.

Too many words question coming up...

I think most of us on here appreciate that your decision to appoint Burley was in some way a rejection of the awful hoofball that we'd been forced to watch for far too many seasons and we also understand that at times the team actually managed to produce some fantastic football. Do you now think that the only way to survive in this division is to appoint another 'up and under' merchant, or is there still hope for football?

By "sufficient funds" i meant enough to buy proven championship players so lets say 1-2 million?

Secondly, i think Hughton would be a great appointment but i am not sure how likely that will be. Do you want to have a manager in place by the Cov/Swansea game?

Considering you said it was not a knee-jerk reaction, do you not feel it was a bit naive to sack George without anyone lined up?

He has already set up a shortlist and is working on it. What do you want him to do? Talk to managers behind his current manager's back? Seriously?!

Very disappointing season but will back the team and Steve come what may.
Would have supported you if stayed with GB but can't argue with the change as relegation is looming......
Kind of fancy the idea of Chris Houghton (in particular) or Darren Southgate - both of them shouldn't have been sacked.

Evening Steve... many thanks for coming on here (again.)

1. Did the sackings of Darren Ferguson & Brian Laws influence the board's decision to make a change?

2. What is the most important thing you've learned from your first 6 months as a chairman of a football club?

Will the new manager have much money to spend in the transfer window, or will they be relying on free transfers and loan signings?

Dude, free transfers and loan signings aren't free. Ever heard of wages?

Player A costs 100,000 transfer fee, wages = 2,000 a week. Over half a season (20 weeks) total cost is 140,000.

Player B costs free transfer plus wages of 8,000 per week, over same period total cost is 160,000.

Is the free transfer cheaper? No.

The better players are often available "free" but are on much higher wages.

This probably won't be answered, but... are any of the managers on the 'short short list' currently employed?
