You see, this is how we average Americans think: If a certain so-and-so is not perceived as a threat to our lives, then, believe it or not, we don't want to kill him! Funny how that works! Is this what the average American thought of Osama Bin Laden before Sep 11th. Why wait for something to happen??? Isn't it strange how the scuds launched at Kuwait are the ones that were supposed to be given up. I wonder how many more he has got up his sleeve. Lets be honest he was never going to hand these over to the UN. Bin Laden was actually top of the FBI's 'Most Wanted' list long before September 11. And I'm pretty sure the US knew what threat he posed seeing as they trained him! I havent set my stall out either way (pro war or anti), which is admittidley the easy way out and probably wrong of me but hey, what can you do. However i think the question was asking people on the street, i dont think any 'average' american would have been worried about Bin Laden b4 9.11. Michael Moore is a leg!

Several B-52s flew out of RAF Fairford today. Expect the bombs to land some time after sundown. I don't yet know if the ordnance is "smart" guided weapons or not though. Still no confirmation on whether the missiles fired from Iraq were indeed Scuds. Two US soldiers now killed in combat. Plus the twelve US&UK personnel on the Sea Knight helicopter crash.

US defence officials say they have seized two strategically important airfields in western Iraq. US forces have reached the key town of Nasariya on the Euphrates river, where they encountered Iraqi resistance. US forces have intercepted two Iraqi barges packed with anti-ship mines as they attempted to leave port in Iraq.

UK intelligence is reporting increasing evidence that Saddam is no longer around. That he is either dead or seriously injured. America's ABC news is reporting that Saddam was seen injured on a stretcher.
