I agree with CF that Alcohol is by far more harmful than dope. Cigarettes and alcohol put a massive strain on the NHS. If they weren't already legal I would no way want them legalised, however criminalising them would be impossible for any government. (If booze was made illegal I would be brewing my own in the airing cupboard and be totally prepared for the legal consequences).

I would like to see alchohol consumption in the street banned mainly because of the arseholes I see drinking in the kiddy playground near my house and making it a no-go area for my kids. Also this policy has made Glasgow city centre a much nicer place and it would do wonders for parts of Croydon.

I don't see any point in wasting police and court time prosecuting people for possession of dope but I don't see that makes any more of a case for legalising it completely.

Let's not stop at tobacco, either. We could ban cars, aeroplanes, dogs, kebab shops.....
