I loved that Croydon story.
I've heard of them. I've also heard that for a charity match, the cast of the TV soap Eastenders went against them, and beat them. Is that true? Cause that's what my mate told me - he lives across the road from them.

Flippin' 'eck Mark, it was '76' or '77', I'll be buggered if I can remember, but, if it's the time your grandad was there, you gotta ask him if he can remember it. If I remember right, Croydon weren't allowed to play the tie at their ground, so it was played at Millwall... or was it played at Dulwich Hamlet? Can't remember! But the game I played in was midweek, the tie was the following weekend and I'm sure Croydon got a draw and went out on the replay, Let me know if it was him and if he remembers that night and especially the street urchin with the golden feet! Hehe! Me grandad told me that in his stint as coach they got millwall, but as you said couldn't play it at the arena. The match was eventually played at selhurst park and i think it was a 2-2 draw. I know that croydon were well beaten at the den. THinking about Petealiator's story has anyone played footie with anyone famous? Me grandad was in the same croydon team as Peter Bonneti and Roy Hodgson.
