I don't feel sorry for him: He is an extremely rich and elligible young man who can walk into pretty much whichever job he wants to do, live in a Palace, marry the beautiful girl of his choice etc. Doesn't exactly fill me with pity! Fair play to the boy, though, and I like to see him taking a leaf out of his grandpa's book. I really cannot stand all this PC crap - if you want to go out dressed as a Nazi, fancy dress party or no fancy dress party, you damn well bloody should be able to, without a bunch of reactionary, self-righteous w**kers passing comment (even if they are hacks looking for a cheap and easy story). Have lots to say on this subject, actually, but shouldn't won't turn this into another Nazism/Racism/Freedom of Speech thread.

The Nazi party didn't suddenly take power, start invading countries and committing mass murder. It was a bit more subtle than than. Not that much more subtle, though! They pretty much planned it that way from Day 1! Quote When the Nazi's first got into power they actually did a good job sorting out the economy and created almost zero unemployment. The fact that many people (including some royals) were impressed by this, and made comments to that effect, does not mean they supported the terrible atrocities that the Nazi's went to to commit.
Just thought I'd point it out. Don't want a fellow HOL member being sued for liable! Unemployment in Germany under the Nazis did fall dramatically, due to a variety of factors. I don't think it can be said that they "sorted out" the economy, though. The atrocities that the Nazis "went on" to commit started immediately they seized power (and well before, depending on what you call an "atrocity", and they were far from subtle about it. If the British Royal Family were impressed by Hitler and the Nazis, it probably had as much to do with the fact that they were politically sympathetic as that they were impressed by the German economic turn. Sorry, was supposed not to try and turn this into a Nazism thread!

I really don't think there is any evidence the Royal family were Nazi sympathisers but I can't be arsed with a debate about it either! I was merely trying to point out that some people have blown this all out of proportion and that Harry in a fancy dress nazi uniform does not constitute evidence that the royal family are evil Nazi's!

I think Harry is a complete and utter t*at for going to a party dressed as a Nazi. His family have a very shady history when it comes to supporting the Nazi's and he should know better than to wear something like this at a party. The point about the army is that he is going to Sandhurst to train to be an officer. He will have to deal with all sorts of people (the older generation, Dutch, French and other nationalities in NATO) that would not find it funny to wear the symbol of a group that decimated Europe and caused the mass extermination of millions. Did you see the Auschwitz program on BBC2 on Tuesday? It's not a F*cking joke, it happened not so long ago and for that pr*ck to think its funny is truly offensive. If the Royals want to be left alone then fine, scrap the monarchy, stop the civil list, open the buildings and let them get on with their lives. They can't have it both ways. I'll save my sympathy for someone who deserves it.

According to David Icke the British Royal family are not Nazis, they are shape shifting reptilians.
