Addressed to all you f***ing smokers, why should we have to inhale your dirty death fumes just because you are too selfish and too weak to smoke elsewhere. I don't want to die a smoking related death thank you, I already suffer from asthma. Spurs have it spot on.

"Typical non smoker/reformed smoker" What an arrogant statement. Why don't they make all the crappy wooden seating areas smoking areas and let the smokers move about instead of the non-smokers. Why should non-smokers have to move because sopmeone can't keep a cigerette out of their mouths for 45 mins? An to be honest, smoke yourself to death if you choose im sure most non smokers couldnt give a flying f***, however we'd rather not go down with you and drag our kids the same way. Just awaiting barraige of abuse baring contradictions and "alright for some, f*** the rest" attitude You my friend, are a f***ing idiot... Touché!!!!!!!!!!

I am a smoker sitting in block E of the Holmesdale which is non smoking and I have never smoked while sitting there (except when we played Charlton and I couldn't help it) I respect that is a non smoking area and the same goes for non-smokers sitting in smoking areas. You can always request to move your seat if you don't like it. For the people who do smoke in non smoking areas are lucky the stewards don't do their jobs properly then!! And their is nothing to stop you from asking someone to put their ciggarette out if they are smoking where they shouldn't be.

Quote susmik at 29 Dec 2004 9:41am Most of the non smokers have habits that get right on my nerves but I do NOT continually harp on about it all the time.
Quote THE ANSWER TO THESE SMOKING HATERS IS: DONT COME NEAR US JUST MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE AS YOU HAVE ENOUGH AREAS AND PLACES IN THIS COUNTRY WERE WE CANNOT SMOKE SO BL00DY USE THEM AND LEAVE US ALONE...........GET A LIFE!!!!!
When I changed my season ticket to move into the Holmesdale when it first opened (with seats) I had the choice to move into either block B or block H. The map of the ground clearly stated at the time that block B was a smoking area, and block H wasn't. Therefore I decided to sit in block H. I don't think smoking should be allowed, but at the same time it's not my choice whilst at Selhurst so as long as the people and stewards in block H adhere to the rules, I'm happy to continue sitting there.

As many contributors on this thread have stated, you can always call in to the box office (or suffer the wroth of the 089 number) and request a change of seat until they make it a non-smoking ground. I am sure that when you bought your ticket the box office asked you if you wanted smoking or non-smoking. Every time I have renewed my season ticket (25+ of them) they have asked me.

The way Palace have played in recent games, watching them for 90 mins is far more likely to shorten your life than someone having a fag next to you. It's part of coming to the football, along with the swearing, singing and meat pies.

If i want to get abusive about smoking in public, it's my perogative. Smoking is a disgusting, dirty habit, and it's only us non-smokers that see that. I'm not ranting about Selhurst Park, just smoking in public generally and I'm very much looking forward to the proposed smoking ban.

'Research by the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York has shown that the cost to the NHS of treating diseases caused by smoking is approximately £1.5 billion a year.' - FROM ASH site (anti smoking group) 'through taxation smokers make a major contribution (over £7 billion) to the economic health of the nation, far in excess of the cost (estimated to be £1.5 billion) of treating so-called 'smoking-related diseases' on the NHS.' - From HM Customs and Excise SO ALL YOU NON-SMOKING PEOPLE OUT THERE PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTH TREATMENTS/SCHOOLS ETC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If i want to get abusive about smoking in public, it's my perogative. Smoking is a disgusting, dirty habit, and it's only us non-smokers that see that. I'm not ranting about Selhurst Park, just smoking in public generally and I'm very much looking forward to the proposed smoking ban. This response is typical of the rabid anti-smoking brigade. I've generally found smokers are quite reasonable & respect other people (if we're in a pub & a non-smoker is eating I won't light up until they've finished) compare this with the non-smokers who moan about people smoking in designated areas A couple of years ago I was on a train (to watch Palace) sitting in the one smoking carriage, a family sat down & the dad started slagging everyone off for smoking then opened the end windows so we were sitting in a gale. He proclaimed "I don't want my kids getting cancer". I asked why then he was in the smoking carriage? Apparantly there were no other seats so he went & got complained to the guard! Your reaction "If i want to get abusive about smoking in public, it's my perogative" - is it right to get abusive about anything?
Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season? |
