before i waste another half an hour waiting for the video clip to finish buffering or whatever, is this a wind up?

No, it truly is sick. Football violence at its worse.

I was just leaving to go to the Pub to meet some Friends you know us naughty boys from the Wilton arms, When the phone rang, It was the ex misses telling me she was coming out of hospital with our Daughter at 2pm
I was never so happy and pissed off at the same time!!!!
mind you I dropped them off at her Mums and sped all the way to the Game hearing all the action on the Radio! got in just before Half time.

Needless to say I stayed out of any wrong doings but lets just say most of the Wilton boys got some pay back after the match!!! Big time.

Not me of course Lol

I was standing behind the goal on the Holmedale that day, and when the guy went up the floodlight not only did all hell break out among the fans in the ground, but as soon as the police and stewards went to sort it out, there were dozens of people coming over the wall from Park Road into the Arthur, and tearing down to join the trouble. We always had the impression that it was a pre-arranged thing and the bloke going up the lights was a signal.

The fancy dress idea sounds great though!

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

About a year after the match , i was on holiday ,in Gran Canaria, got talking to an avid birmingham fan , we mentioned the game ,

and he said for weeks before the game there were these posters put up every where all over the town , pubs , clubs , you name it stating

''fancy adress party at selhurst park birmingham v palace ''

He just said most of the fans just came down for the laugh , but he said there were a few trouble makers who tagged on , so there was always going to be trouble

Remember it well standing on the Holmesdale all the Brum fans were lagged up outside before the game as someone says singing sh*t on the villa.
2,000 dopey pratts went to Crystal Palace sports centre obviousley the ones who had not been down for footy before.
They were already down so came down for a ruck,it all kicked off when we scored an early goal and they spilled onto the pitch and over to the AW stand where our singers were.
To be fare i think at the time we had a block of hard lads i think the nifty fifty who sat in block U where i do now and once a punch up in the seats near them had calmed down after the hitlter bloke had been sorted they all jumped down to the terrace part of the AW and fought off the Brum fans who were trying to get into the Palace bit seen in Penges video.
I have to say if it wasn`t for the blokes from block U fending them off then a lot more innocent fans who liked to sing would have been beaten up.
I recall some of the brum fans holding a bloke by his hair and rabbit punching him for ages poor bloke.
Still when the police horses came on and their so called hard boys ran off a small group ran to the members stand in fancy dress which killed me as they stood out like sore thumbs and got a kicking on the edge of the pitch, and i will never forget the back of the mirror saying "those birmingham thugs" but in the picture a bloke dressed as a bear or osomething was getting a kicking off of palace fans it was comical.
I also remember a brummie bird climbing a fllodlight and lifting her top which amused everyone.
Have to say that was the worst i have seen at any palace match but then i was not at Chelsea in 76 for the cup QTR Final.

I remember all the scum piling over the top of the barb wire at the back of the arfur, from the seats into out terracing and an advertising board that they launched on the half way line into the arfur terracing. missed me and old man by about 6 foot i reckon. very scary at the time. northern cnuts...bruce is well at home up there!!

even more reason to shove it upem next month.

I was at the game..the trouble started when about a dozen Birmingham fans dressed as Hitler decided that the away fans section wasn't big enough and that it was their right to have more space in the adjacent area...the rest, as they say, is history

It was pre-arranged definitely, though brum brought more than even they had expected.

In those "terms" however, Palace gave a very good acount of themselves.

A lot of the casual dressed people in those clips are probably Palace fans as it was meant to go off in the Homesdale but the Brumscum got confused and thought the AW was the place it was to go off. Therefore, people who were waiting in the Palace bit of the Holmesdale came from behind the Birmingscum, like a "pincer movement" by mistake.

I too remember the big black lad strolling the ground knocking out what looked like the cast of the "Rocky Horrow Show."
