the despotic banana Dept. of Baboon Maintenance 16 Sep 04 5.47pm | |

You may have noticed that Tony Blair was conspicuous by his absence yesterday in the Commons when the result was read out - this is because he doesn't want the ban, he's just bowing to pressure. Cynical b******s might point out that bowing to pressure was something he did not do when scores of Iraqis were being slaughtered, but not me. Foxes are furry and cute. Iraqis aren't.

Just watched the news. The police attempt to stop them by hitting them with their truncheons and now the police are accused of being 'heavy handed' and 'over the top'. Have I missed the point here? The hunters trying to riot and the police trying to stop the riot / push them back. Civil liberty people - go away : you are ruining this country.

Great post VB, they've forgotten that they started the entire scuffle, the police were just there like they are for every march on any subject. They didn't wave their batons around for no reason. Not sure if this point has been brought up already but I wonder what the pro-hunt supporters were saying to their TV when the whole coal mining thing was happening?

There is no way that fox hunting keeps down fox numbers. They go every few months and only kill a few animals. I would suggest some people here that are pro hunting go on one, some of the stuff that they do to the animal is quite hideous. I know all this since I used to live on a farm in Herefordshire

Fox hunting through towns and cities? Now theres an idea! Imagine laying in bed at night then hearing the rumbling of hooves as the hunters fly through the streets of Croydon. Their hounds rooting behind bins beside the Blue Orchid trying to flush out the urban fox. That should keep the piss heads amused on their way home. (I assume it would be at night anyway. Less traffic). Pass the bifter.

Fox hunting, like synchronised swimming, is downright unnatural and ought to be banned. Then again, Synchronised Fox Swimming could be an entertaining pastime. Teams of Foxes wheeling about in a series of Busby-Berkley routines to theme music from Basil Brush. Then again, it is getting late and the gin is beginning to take hold.

I notice Gary Lineker`s gone quiet on this one. To think he was party to saving them.
