Your team's like your wife/girlfriend/fill in the blank. The best year/night/shag is invariably the first one! And for exactly the same reasons. Once you're married (or a loyal supporter), you work out that you'd rather be shagging someone else (or supporting a team that actually wins the odd game and delivers a bit of satisfaction in the process) but by that time it's too late and you're stuck with both Palace and the wife (only one of which screws you on a regular basis, by the way). Ain't life s4it?

93-94 Div 1 Champs Season! singing we are top the league! - what a team we had that year! Also 90-91, watching the fa cup final the season before was my first as a Palace Fan, so my first season was our best ever!

Has to be the 93/94 championship season for me as it was my first season of supporting Palace and what a way to start the love affair with the Eagles. Last season was pretty close though.

I have read this thread and I have to say while 1990-91 was great for many reasons. I am going for another year. I started supporting Palace in 1988. I was not allowed to go to games (Parents HATE South London) so wanting to respect my parents (who lived a stones throw from Wembley) I did not go to games. In fact, I was gutted that I was not allowed to go to the FA Cup Final in 1990 as well. As it was about 20 mins from my house..... My first game was the ZDS in 1991 and while that was a great game and we had a wonderful team, my best year of being a Palace fan was one that was covered in adversity. 2000. Yes the new Millenium, but we were going out of business. No money, no players and declining crowds. What has good about this year? 1) The Supporters Trust. Set up to save the club, it broke all records for fans contributing to the cause, over £1 Million was raised. 2) The HOL. YES! I found this site in March 2000 and I have made friends on here, become a bit of a journo again and united the fans. In fact, this site is responsible for my best day of being a Palace fan. 3) Blackburn (H) May 2000. This was a great day all round. Meeting members of the HOL before hand. Seeing Guntri turn up and getting to the Main Stand with a trolley full of red and blue cards (where they were going "spare" from is still a mystery!). Meeting Phil Alexander and Terry Byfield and getting the keys to the Holmesdale. Having about 12 people and getting about 2000 cards out in the Holmesdale in about 2 hours. Rob Fox mentioning us all by name as we were doing it. The match itself, seeing people holding up the cards, making the press. Having the pictures held in posterity in the Red and Blue bar (We did that!). Seeing Matt Jansen not celebrating and then contributing £1000 to the trust, Winning 2-1. Ashley Coles first ever goal in professional football, Steve Coppell getting the award from the HOL at the end of the game, him throwing his jacket into the stand at the end. Most of all, how we all became united in the face of adversity. Seeing the HOL win the award from the Guardian. Simon Jordan then saving the club. I know that it hasnt all been a bed of roses but we had a bunch of honest, if not the most skilfull players in the world and it was just a priveledge to have been part of this wonderful experience. I guess that moving back to South East London was a big thing for me. I was really in a good place in my life and Palace became so much more to me, as there was a possibility that it could no longer exist. Fact is that this year brought the fans together and I will never forget the Blackburn game. For me it was better than any semi final, the league in 1994 and I think that for a match experience, Cardiff may just top it. But for all the other reasons, this will hold the most special of memories for me.

the best season to date for me would be last season. so 03/04, what a season it was, although the first half was dire, the second was such a great ride and being there for all the games in the firtst half of the season made life AD all the better. Think this season 04/05 will be enjoyable aswell, I'm loving it allready. VIVE LA PALACE

Its got to be 03/04. Since goin to my first game in 94/95 season, i've never seen palace playing like that. we were almost unbeatable, and unbeaten at home in 2004. The play offs were great.
