THEM, one of my favourite groups in the 60s with Van Morrison in the lineup. I played 'Baby Please Don't Go' incessantly at a party aimed at a girlfriend who fancied another lad. The group was named after a 1954 sci-fi horror about giant ants.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

And they were popular with John Peel while he was still playing hippy stuff. Anyone who could release an album called My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows were certainly of their time.
