Palazzo, can you please take musicians off the list...or at least some musicians? I worked for 40 years (1982-2022) as a professional musician working in mainly West End shows. Although I loved playing my instrument it felt very much like a proper job - you can't be late (despite the best efforts of the train companies), too many mistakes and you're out, paying the mortgage requiring the standard to be high every time you picked up your instrument, a bollocking from the boss (musical director/conductor) if things went wrong, the hassle of the self-assessment tax return. Okay it's not working down a pit but we slogged hard to give audiences a great night out! ok, granted. I guess it a real job when you would rather be down the pub having a quiet pint or off walking the dog. However, professional dog-walkers ? but i will disagree with the other cantankerous eejit above. He who maintains than being a Professional Footballer is a real job. Same as working in an office or factory. Considering fellas have tantrums and strops when substituted off. You know any office worker who would be offered an early finish and throw their toys out of the pram ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (26 Jul 2024 9.03am)

Funny ain't it I know a magistrate. One after another of these paraded before her, all looking about 30 years older than they actually are. None will live beyond 60 and will all die alone, in penury and in pain.

I nominate PalazioVecchio who can't have a proper job as he seems to spend all day on this forum starting threads
