I am enormously gratified and humbled by all your kind wishes and sentiments. Rest assured I never re-emerged to thrust myself in the limelight or to have the spotlight trained on me.I certainly was not seeking any plaudits and the sole reason for re-joining the HOL 'Orbit' was out of respect for some generous, courteous and kindhearted comments which I concluded were worthy of a response.It would have been discourteous had I not responded. You are all erudite luminaries of great eloquence whereas I am a scrivening dullard with a limited and one-dimensional mindset. Finishing in European qualification places will of course represent real progress but actually competing in the Europa League or Europa Conference League introduces challenges which could prove detrimental to our league form and position. Burnley qualified for Europe after finishing 7th and the season after, when they competed in a European competition, they ended the season in 15th place. Not withstanding, a "Palace in Europe" headline would be exceedingly well received !
