Finally Guehi seamed to get some plaudits, and win the pundits round.

With the England pundits/commentators, it seams as though until you have earned your stripes with England, they presume you cant do it.

He's had a full season in the Championship, 3 seasons in the prem. Won the U17 World cup, final of the U17 Euros. Captain of his club, captain of the U17s. He's calm and confident and great with the ball. Why is the starting point that he might struggle to step up?

All the pre tournament chat was about how weak we were at the back, and how we'd miss Maguire. The same Maguire that hasn't been trusted for 2 seasons now, kept our of the team by full backs, and Jonny Evans.

Really struggle to get my head around it

I've thought the same throughout the build up, all the worry was on Guehi and whether he could fill Maguire's shoes.. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, as I had no doubt he'd step up. Guehi is a far superior CB to Maguire and can actually play with the ball at his feet.

The only reason for the doubt must be because he doesn't play for a top 6 club or they haven't seen enough of him, which either way, is a terrible reflection on these so-called football experts..

Great performance from him and there aren't many England players can say that about last night.

He was always a better defender than Maguire and much quicker too, my only concern was how he'd handle the height and physicality of the Serbs but he did well. Shame we'll probably never see him in a Palace shirt again.

Not related to Palace at all (unless we sign his brother) but how bloody good is Bellingham? He's could very well go on to be England's best ever player, it's mad how impressive he is.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

In fairness to Shearer he was full of praise for Guehi last night. That must be a first him saying something nice about a Palace player, unless he's hoping he goes to Newcastle?

Speculation Guehi believes his future lies away from Palace in order to achieve silverware, playing for a top six side and we should set a price on him, which properly reflects his true value, rather than a mere £60m.

If Everton want 80m why should Guehi be less? After his performance yesterday If he wants to leave bidding should start at 80 as he will be in demand. Personally I think a figure of over 100 is feasible. We also do not want substandard players in exchange

Braithwaite hasn’t even done a full season and Everton want 80 million. If you put things in that kind of perspective then Guehi falls into the 100 million bracket.

Stones looked poor last night, nearly as bad as Foden….

Foden had a stinker. Also if I had a quid for every time he went down holding his Face I’d be a rich man !

Who, has said that's his fee?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
