Unlike poorly run clubs we appear to be in a sound financial position with no immediate obligations to sell our best players. We have also renegotiated and extended contracts to cover ourselves against the predatory PL clubs as best we can. We were caught with our pants down with Wilf and now we have learned our lesson. So well done to the club for excellent appointments and good fiscal sense. That said if we are offered -£60M for either Eze, Olise, Guehi or Wharton then we will have to accept, say thank you for your service and move on if the player wants to take up the offer. I believe we have a great set of characters in the squad so no one is desperate to leave as far as I can see!!

Don't recall Peter Taylor pulling up many trees when he went to Spurs either. He won all his England caps when he was with us and in his first season there Spurs got relegated, if I remember right. Edited by Silverfox50 (09 Jun 2024 6.25pm)

I’m sure this has been well covered but I honestly believe he’d be absolutely fudging nuts to even consider it.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Edited by Silverfox50 (09 Jun 2024 6.25pm) That leaves Wayne Routledge and Andy Gray as the benchmarks.

If Eze has a career death wish then he signs for Spurs. Apart from, maybe Peter Taylor can anyone name one Palace player who went to Spurs and thrived? Not one Palace player has gone there and flourished, but I can name a few whose careers nose dived…. Terry Fenwick, Chris Armstrong, Andy Gray ( via Aston Villa) John Boswell, Wayne Routledge. Have I missed anyone?

Spurs always put a squeeze on us over players and get them unsettled. The Bostock one and I think the Routeledge deals went to tribunal. I dislike Spurs with a passion…

Eze is 26 at the end of the month. His career probably has one big transfer left in it, and one massive contract. It could be this summer, it could be next, but the next one is the career defining one. I'd be amazed if it was to Europa League, money tight Spurs.

They won the league only 63 years ago.

They may have a reputation for hard negotiators, but pay pretty well. Half a dozen on their roster earn more than he does currently and he would probably demand, at a minimum, Maddison's salary (170,000) as he was the one who made the England squad. TBH, I do not see him as a great fit. He either needs to play as a sole No. 10, which is Maddison's position, or as a joint No. 10 like at Palace where you ideally have a Mateta type figure up front which Spurs currently lack. If they stick him on the wing it's a lose-lose for both team and player
