Not sure they have a good track record of bring young players into the first team. If I was Bellingham Palace and Brentford would be a better fit. Definitely

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It's not a priority, especially if the board knows that it must spend money to replace outgoing players. Like Johnson if the price is right fair enough but I don't think we are going to go all out for him in this window. Surely a back up to JPM and Mitchell are the priorities plus who ever is leaving.

Agree. Have always felt like this about Johnson. If we have any aspirations of climbing the table he's not good enough to be starting for us. And if that's the case, (assuming he'd want a decent wage as he is free) I'd rather let Wardy play that role in the squad.

Listening to the HLTCO podcast a few days ago, apparently Sunderland fans have been saying he can play CAM/striker. Maybe being brought to eventually back up/take over JPM or in the CAM role once Eze/Olise evetuantlly go?

He can play this role and his winning the ball back is insane from the clips I’ve seen.

If neither Lerma or Doucoure can get into the team because of better players ahead of them, that would be team progression on a pretty special level.

It also shows that we're building a squad which will allow both proper rotation to rest players and a manager who's willing to use subs to change the team when required.
