I want the England squad to be loaded with players from the bottom half of the Premier League, especially Brighton. And all such players to have lumps kicked out of them - plus the players that performed well getting robbed by ManUre etc. Ashley Young to bust his leg ( jealous husband) having been caught cheating with somebody else's wife. And no Palace players involved in any rough tackles or other risks. Not all Eagles are English. Edited by PalazioVecchio (31 May 2024 2.21pm) I do for a different reason. I suspect not all of our stars are as bothered about England as the fans. If you look at many other countries whose players would not even get into a PL side and they are proud to play for their country. I could see a bottom half England side putting more effort into it.

Henderson because Trafford is rubbish To be fair, dunk and guehi looked decent together against Scotland……..but then you and me would’ve probably looked decent against the Jocks

i have always argued that Champions-League type players often show less urgency than other players. When they put on the National shirt, they often go soft. Especially if they are wealthy and over the age of 28. Half them feign injury and others show all the loyalty to their squad of Roy Keane at Saipan. give me a team of young Championship players and bottom-half Prem players and just watch their hunger to prove themselves. This morning a work colleague asked if I'd seen the photo of the 4 Palace lads in their England kit. In one of the papers, I believe. I hadn't and I haven't. Is anyone able to point me towards it please? I confess I have looked on the CPFC app yet.

Even seeing Damien Delaney in the green shirt of Ireland made me feel somewhat nervous. And him battling with a thug like Sergio Ramos all the more uneasy. What's in it for Palace ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (02 Jun 2024 3.37pm)

Edited by PalazioVecchio (02 Jun 2024 3.37pm) Of course, I’ll never forget I went to Kenny Sansom’s England debut when I was a kid and I was so proud to be there to see it after seeing him strutting his stuff for us since the 3rd division days.

It will go the way it always goes. Unconvincing opening win v Serbia. Too hard 0-0 draw v Denmark. The media will then be all over the team, much wailing and gnashing of teeth and this message board will be in full Southgate bashing. Then we will beat Slovenia and our next oppo like a knife through butter... And we will "somehow" reach the QF having barely left 3rd gear, without injury, fatigue or yellow card. Nice to meet the French. We owe them one.
