Wilkinson was the last manager to win Division One when it was the top division.

And then we actually won that very same trophy, it was still even called division 1, trouble is it was now the second tier as they added this thing called the premier league above

So I’ve always said, technically we HAVE won a major trophy

Watched Portugal v Ireland the other night. Portugal were excellent to be fair. A few top players. Full of pace, fast wingers, brilliant finishers and Ronaldo as usual. Fast tempo but controlled with real quality and skill. Wonder what their odds are?

That's not bad. I hadn't thought about them at all for the tournament but after seeing them, I might take a look.

Watching the Germans v the jocks tonight will be like watching Brighton v Millwall, one of those games where you want them both to lose

Think it's a decent punt - outside of England and France they probably have the best squad, and as you said initially, it seems a fairly functional team with lots of pace throughout.

Netherlands are my shout to exceed expectations - lots of quality throughout the team, particularly at centre-half. The likes of Frimpong, Simons and Zirkee have had really promising seasons and think they'll make a big impact at this level. They're a bit light in centre-midfield is the only concern, but a strong squad.

Not for me. A humiliating defeat for our Jock mates will have me LMAO.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Actually I make you right, if I did have to choose I’d rather the sweaty’s get beat, simply because they’re more annoying when they get a good result and they hate us more than the Germans do

With only 8 out of 24 teams going out, the first round of this tournament is going to be pretty dull IMHO.

Or it could be quite entertaining because the better teams are not frightened of going out early…………..possibly

Indeed it could be, however I'm struggling to think of any previous 24-team tournament where I would describe the first phase in such terms.
