Glasner plays 3x CBs, meaning we probably need 6 in the squad. Guehi is being linked with a move and Clyne is yet to agree a new deal. Unless those situations change, we could end up with Anderson, Richards, Holding and Ward. Therefore this is an extremely welcome move. Unbelievable that we've lined one up early as well, we've really got our s*** together at the moment. Very much seems so, it's unnerving.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I've had Riad as my captain on Football Manager at the top of La Liga and he's class, if that counts for anything... What is maybe more relevant for us is that FM's very accurate database has him down as being equally adept at playing in a holding midfield role. Combine that with a Barcelona apprenticeship and expect him to be decent with his feet. This has Guehi replacement written all over it and is very smart. Only downside is he's an AFCON participant but fortunately we've really reduced our AFCON exposure recently with the departures of Kouyate and Zaha. Riad - Andersen - Richards (if needed) Lerma - Holding - Clyne Ward spare. Even without Guehi we could already start the season tomorrow, especially with Doucoure coming back fit into the middle.

Quite an odd/complicated transfer, And striking now, likely enables us to get him for such a good price. But sounds good for all parties. Looks a really interesting prospect. Big and physical, likes pressing to win the ball early. Cant say I've watched him play, but I suspect being A Barca kid, he'll be more than competent on the ground.

Arsenal can have him back. Maybe he'll go to a newly promoted side.
