Indeed, i would be surprised if Johnstone and Edouard are at the club at the start of the season, hopefully Franca can have a full Pre-season, i still fancy him as a CF, hopefully a very boring window with nothing happening in or out. I hope Johnstone stays and Edouard or we will need some cover for Mateta.

"It's the hope that kills you" as we all know. Last few Summers has been the hope that we stay up next year and have a bit of a dabble in the transfer market plus the odd bit of hope about the new stand, knowing we might just stay up but our transfer dealings will largely be sh** and the chances of the new stand are little better than zero. This Summer we are all hoping virtually nothing happens in the transfer window and there is a real chance the new stand might (just might start), knowing we will lose loads of players, transfers in will be sh** because the money will be needed for the new stand that will not start because Sainsburys need space for their new "taste thew difference delivery service".

I suspect that our buying in this coming window will be partly funded by what we get for Guehi when he goes. We should not forget that he was injured for the whole of Glasner's tenure apart from the last game so, in one sense, we haven't actually missed him and can replace him with a younger and cheaper player (who may be Riad unless he is coming as a squad player - I suspect Riad will be a starter - especially if Clyne doesn't re-sign).

Hendersen is not going to leave, which means Johnstone will, he wants to start, Edouard will have a year on his contract before he leaves on a free, so give him a free and save 5m wages, as i have said, i see Franca as a Number 9, we also have Zach Marsh, if needed loan in a forward for a season.

I am not so sure Johnstone will be leaving this summer. He has missed half this season due to injury and is not expected to return till mid July. He was judged ahead of Henderson before he was injured and Henderson himself was injured for much of the previous season at Man U and came off 10 minutes into his first game with us. So there’s every chance Johnstone will get back on to the pitch without too much delay once he his fit. Both of them arrived as 2nd choice goalkeeper obviously prepared to wait for a chance to play (when Johnstone arrived we already had Guaita AND Butland so he was arguably 3rd choice and Johnstone was already first choice gk when Henderson signed) so they are both very aware that they need to play the long game and wait for their chance. And like all our players this summer they will be thinking what glories might lie ahead with the team and manager that we have. A European place in 25/26 combined with a cup run would open up the need/opportunity for both keepers.

That we had, as a team, the most players in the England Squad must signal to the Players what you can achieve by playing regularly and in the position that suits you, and highlights that Grealish, Sterling, Maddison, etc have not, i do not expect Eze, Olise, Wharton, etc to stay at Palace for their entire career, but don't rush, time is on their side and make sure if and when you do leave think carefully where you go.

I doubt Guehi can be persuaded to stay. It appears he refused to extend his contract and one can only assume that the question of an increase in wages was discussed but didn't sway him. I would have been devastated a season or so ago, but we can definitely do without Guehi now. Especially with Glasners quick build up, the ball spends less time getting passed from CB to CB.

Indeed, I'm sure a few out there will take note. ITs a relatively short career, and you need to spend of much of it playing as possible. Especially in the early years

Olise and Eze know at Palace they are super stars and will only ever warm the bench when recovering from injury.

I think Eze would be mad to leave Palace for another English Team, Wait for PSG, Real Madrid or Barcelona, if he is good enough, The leagues are not as competitive and has more chance playing in his preferred position, i think Wharton could play for any team in any league and look class, with 5 years left on his contract, any presumably no-release clause he could beat Coutinho's 135m, 3rd in the all-time transfer list.
