He played well for his cameo however it just showed up he lacked the energy that Wharton and Hughes have to get around the pitch. Moan United had given up at that point but if it was tight and their midfield were pressing he would be found out. He is simply not mobile enough for the PL, playing for a club in Europe at a slower pace he would be fine. I think the same thing applies to Ozoh, both might be better off dropping into defence although at other clubs.

we bought him as a left side CB in a 352 formation. We now play that system and he hasn't had a look in. He is about 5th choice CM and has never been a regular in the last 5 years. He is also on decent money, c£55k a week. He needs to be playing regularly - time to go

I wonder though whether in time he will be back. Not as a player but as a coach. Whenever you hear one of our academy boys talking about which member of the senior squad is most helpful to them it’s always Riedwald. Apparently he is very approachable, willing to listen and give his time. He is clearly very respected.

If we are progress as a club, we need to be ruthless and let players go.

Glasner says that he only wants a small number of changes to the squad but I expect a few younger players will be brought in.

Click-bait saying FC Twente are after him, would suit him there if i'm honest. Good luck to him.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Always been very patient waiting for his chance. I felt his last few appearances he may have been kept on, but it is a ruthless world nowadays. I suppose he was slightly off the pace.

On another thread someone suggested that Glasner has played him recently as a favour to put him in the shop window. I think that is probably correct and if true a decent thing to do. My guess is with his lack of mobility he will go back to Europe and will do fine there.

I can’t believe that would happen, points and league position are too valuable in the premier league, hence some managers reluctance to throw youth in at the deep end

I think with extended benches, and a more aggressive style, Glasner will likely value someone like Jairo more than players that are less versatile. Having injuries and being ahead in games has allowed OG to have a look at all the players. Jairo deserves a look as he's been patient and a solid member of the squad for such a long time. Playing a bit more with the ball in a more tactical demanding shape is likely to play to his strengths. So, I think the questions are if you are going to renew- How much will it cost to replace him I don't think he has ever let himself or the club down, so if he does leave I wish him luck. 94 games in 6 seasons. Sooner or later he'll want to play a bit more you'd think. Or maybe he loves the club and the area. Who could blame him.

Jairo did okay in those games but he often replaced Hughes and the lack of mobility was obvious. His passing is fine so in a slower league he will do well. I trust Glasner and with a high pressing game you need high energy players like Hughes.
