You look at our fixtures and still wonder, where will our points come from? We could do with a win but I don't really fancy it. I'm not going to count my chickens until we're mathematically safe. This is one of the worst feeling seasons I remember, from the last decade or so at least. Obviously nowhere near as bad as some other seasons overall but the worst I remember in this spell in the Premier League. I find us pretty hard to predict but currently we seem to like a draw so I'll go for 1-1 - more in optimism than belief.

Certainly not an abundance of positivity around on HOL.

Outside of HOL, the other day I heard some opinionated gentleman opine that Glasner would not last next season and that he was proved right in respect of De Boer being jettisoned early into his reign. The man had a voice like a foghorn, it was a crowded venue and I never caught sight of him.

FDB tried to change too much too quickly when he didn't have the players who could play the way he wanted.

I have no idea if Glasner is the real deal but so far he has shown he is smart enough to realise it is evolution rather than revolution. To some extent we parked the bus towards the end of the Forest game I thought that was a pragmatic approach.

One more point

Glasner talked about taking calculated risks when he first came in and already it feels like we are creating more chances. I don't think we're going to suddenly become an all-out attacking force and we'd probably be destroyed if we did. As you say, it's about evolution. I think we've been seeing slight improvements with each game and the team didn't look dead on its feet against Forest, suggesting fitness has improved alongside improvements in attacking and defending set-pieces. Lerma and JPM both look more useful under Glasner, while the system was made for Munoz.

When Iraola first came in at Bournemouth they were pretty bad and commentators were struggling to work out what his tactics were. With patience and support they're now playing good football and picking up points. I feel confident in Glasner and his team. It also helps that he seems a very likeable character with a dry sense of humour.

I agree but it also instils in me a belief that he isn't a sort of daydreaming, lofty idealist in the sense that De Boer certainly panned out to be.

I have faith in him that he knows where he wants us to be however is pragmatically approaching that to align with the reality of where we are.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

One take away from his interview was his comment about apparently draws being an acceptable target in this league. Under that dry sarcasm it clearly isn't a target for him.

Either he is suggesting that he will need to evolve to apply a more pragmatic approach to what he is used to in Germany...

Or ( I hope), he plans to change the mindset of the players to be more win-focused.

If so, I can see him upgrading the mindbenders in the support team this summer.

With the run of fixtures, this feels like another game that we have to win.

Whilst a point away from home is acceptable, its very likely that we'll lose the next 5.

Bournemouth, should be on the beach now. we need to capitalise on that.

Bournemouth loss 6 of his first 10 PL games and of course there were thoughts that he might pay the price when they kept being defeated.Their first win under Iraola was in their 10th PL game, a 2-1 home victory over Burnley.

But they never are. Like hoping teams will have fatigue after European or cup fixtures or that they will be focused elsewhere. Never happens.

Glasner has arrived at a difficult time with so many injuries to key players and a paper thin inexperienced squad to select from. This is going to be a really tough game, especially so since Bournemouth ripped us apart a few weeks ago and made us look very ordinary. This is a game we could do with winning but that is going to be as difficult as it has been for us to score on the road this season (only Sheff Utd have scored less!).We need points so anything less than a draw would be of concern as there are not many more opportunities for points collection, coming up between now and the end of the season.

We’ve surely got to win one at some point?!

2-1 to Palace. Two nil up but they get one back with ten minutes to go and it’s squeaky bum time…but for once we hang on.
