My brain seems to have blanked out the Intertoto Cup but reading up on it I can see why!

Crystal Palace in Europe
Record by season
Crystal Palace's scores are given first in all scorelines.
Season Competition Round Opponent Home leg Away leg Notes Refs
Country Club
1971 Anglo-Italian Cup Group Italy Cagliari 1–0 0–2 [16][17]
Italy Internazionale 1–1 2–1
1973 Group Italy Verona 4–1 [18]
Italy Bari 1-0
Italy Lazio 3–1
Italy Fiorentina 2-2
Semi-Finals England Newcastle 0-0 1-5
1998 UEFA Intertoto Cup Third round Turkey Samsunspor 0–2 0–2 [H] [20]

Those are not proper EU comp you could class them the same as what they do pre season when they make up cups to play.

The proper ones was likes of European Cup & Cup Winners cup both Palace had never been in.

If you look at our top clubs who know their way round, they have blazed a trail across Europe. It would have to be worth giving it a go.
Allez allez allez, conquering all of Europe must have been amazing journeys for Liverpool, darned scousers.
Doubt we will do Champions league now, but would love to try Europa.
Problem is an age thing for a fair few of us from the sounds of it. But if we pull it off in the next three years i would go to one anyway.
We will need our Europe song of course. Our advantage is we are already well known.
We get loads of French, Italian, Germans at Selhurst come to soak up the Crystal Palace atmosphere.
OK we are not the Kop but we have our own charm and noise.
Had a a couple from New Jersey next to me at the weekend who couldn't believe the singing. Lucky for them Mateta scored after 5 minutes so they were really spoiled and loved it.
We love you really got them going.

Not quite Europe in the sense of a cup competition but I would imagine we will have a few interesting European friendlies next season with OG history / contacts.

I wouldn’t hold your breath, every year it gets further away.

We’ve been a lot further away than this, unless you call playing Wrexham away in the 3rd division as playing in Europe
