I’m pleased he’s gone, while acknowledging that he did have some good spells at the club . Exactly. If he had a reputation for bring young players through you could see him consulting on a Club's Academy structure / scouting. He could certainly do Club Ambassador role but I think his options are limited.

I said a couple of months ago I'd have no issue with him moving upstairs in some capacity. However, on balance that might undermine the current manager and prove too tempting for Parish to put him in charge again if we start struggling under Glasner. I fear that, despite his enormous experience, his overriding footballing philosophy is at odds with what most ambitious clubs are trying to do now. He might be a hugely valuable resource for a newly promoted club with an inexperienced manager trying to establish themselves in the division. Whatever he does, wish him the best and would be great if he could come to one of our final games of the season after we're safe to say goodbye and get an ovation. 100% agree with. He's got vast amount of experience, but, the game is progressing at quite a rate. I'm not sure what he offers to an established club with a decent manager. There is certainly some value he can add, I'm jsut not sure its at Palace any more.

Sheila Hodgson - for God's sake put your foot down and demand he jacks it in so you can have some time together. Your husband has had a fantastic run but now's the time to enjoy some holidays otherwise his health will deteriorate. He's had two warnings and a third is not worth thinking about.

Maybe Roy needs to work for the good of his health. Some people who have worked their whole lives then retire with out any hobbies or interests die of boredom 12 months later. He just needs his fix of football but NOT at the sharp end as a manager.

I could see him helping to establish connections (scouting networks, feeder club set ups, backroom staff recruitment) for ambitious clubs looking to replicate Brentford's / Scum's successes in recent seasons. I could also see him taking an unstructured international team - maybe one of the runners and riders at the Afcon or a club in Saudi - and implementing some good improvement there.
