I know some good political ones: "politics is show business for ugly people" "if voting changed anything they'd make it illegal" "conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives" "I was told politics was the second oldest profession, I have come to realise it bears a striking resemblance to the first".

I remember most of these but for the life of me cannot remember who said them. I get the feeling one might be somebody like Cleese, is one Thatcher?

1.“The art of reading and studying consists in remembering the essentials and forgetting what is not essential.”
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

next "The Crowd Came to the Funeral, Not To Mourn, But To Make Sure the Person Was Dead" Charles Dickens or Edgar Allen Poe. Or maybe someone medical like Louis Pasteur, Robert Koch or Alexander Fleming.
