I'm not really seeing the logic in hiring a man who recently got sacked for nearly getting Forest relegated. Different players involved of course, but hardly encouraging. He might be a good man for the Championship, but that is not what is needed right now. But its not who you want is it? its who you can get to take over the shambles.

The Forest situation is hard as they do look like a team assembled with a scattergun approach. Few of their signings have really shone and when I've seen them they look very average considering the size of the investment. Nuno got two wins off the bat but none since and they have struggled to overcome lower league opposition in the last two rounds of the FA Cup. There appear to be few people who speak negatively of Cooper and the expectation seems to be he'll bounce back. Whether he is the right man for us is obviously up for debate, but he is more experienced than Vieira was at this level and with everything looking so glum having someone with a reputation for building a rapport with the fans is surely a big tick in his box.

Big Fat Sam as short term fire fighter maybe? Parish loves kicking the can down the road. Certainly doesn’t have strong balls when the going gets tough Big Sam failed in his last two attempts to keep teams up

If anyone would much prefer Julen Lopetegui to the others toted about. No baggage and has been in the PL before. Unfortunately the opportunity to make a change vanished when nothing happened after the Arsenal game. Few people know exactly what is going on and I wouldn't believe any speculations in the press. Cooper does not have much of a PL pedigree although, I guess, he WOULD make use of the youngsters and have better tactics than the declining Hodgson. At the moment we are sleep walking into relegation.

I take your point Painter. Obviously I’d HATE us to go down- but we only have to look at Leicester, Southampton and Leeds for some comfort. They have all sold assets to generate cash but have kept the nucleus of their squads, as a result they all look set to bounce straight back up. The problem I see with relegation is that all-our main men will definitely leave and we will have to cash in! We will be left with Ayew, Ward and Schlupp etc which is not good enough to get back. I do not see a future with Doucoure, Guehi, Andersen, Eze or Olise at the club in the championship.

This isn't a resentful dig, just an observation, but you have to ask what the thinking was in building half a good team? We seemed to just stop in our approach therefore, after a few injuries, arrive at where we are now. My other concern was also the lack of progress after the rebuild started, leading to star players leaving as any ambition/intention at the club equally ran out of steam.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

If the silence is because work is underway to replace Roy this week then fine, but if not then I see the lack of comment a bit cowardly. In times of crisis you need leaders at every level and right now it's hard to find any on the pitch, on the bench or in the boardroom. If he stays quiet, then the media and, indeed, fans can be left to speculate in a vacuum while the club get on with winning as many games as they van. If Parrish give his public vote of confidence to the current coaching team, that is standard code for one more loss and you're out. What would you do?
